A real quick question about the border arts for the new legendaries

So recently I got the icons that give the border outlines for the Dawnbringer and Duskbringer legendary skins. However, at the moment, I don't own either of the skins because (like everyone else I assume) I lack the monies. Now generally speaking, would I still get the border icons for the skins if I got them later, say even sometime after the event is over and the skins go on early sale? I mean I assume that I would but I'm just asking for clarification.
