League 2017 is like the boyfriend/girlfriend who cheats on you, and you can't come to terms with it.
All the signs are there. It has become more and more evident that your bf/gf is cheating on you with someone else. As time goes on, you feel more and more ridiculous clinging on to that relationship. But you invested so much and so long in that relationship, that you still try to go on. Even if your partner is no longer trying to hide what they're doing. But when you confront them about their cheating, they assure you that no, you're wrong, they still love you like before. ....Eventually, it comes to a point when you can't continue anymore. It doesn't matter what was in the past - the future looks grim if you hold on to that dead relationship.
......Aaaaaand this little tale is an allegory of what League Of Legends is to me in 2017.
Kayn was an anime edgelord, then we got anime couple Xayah-Rakan, then we got an over OVER sexualized girl, and now.....
....now we got the worst of them all: a character that, well, it doesn't no matter if she looks good or bad, the point is, SHE DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE SHE BELONGS IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS. It feels like she was directly copied&pasted from a cutesy Chinese mobile moba.
I can no longer pretend League isn't "cheating" on me, I can no longer pretend they didn't turn their back to all the promises and the good things they've given me in the past.
League Of Legends has simply become a different videogame, with different design and different ideals. It's time to face it - your partner doesn't love you anymore and you can't keep hoping that they will come back to you.
I'm sure there's a market for the kind of stuff League has now become. Otherwise, they wouldn't have done that U turn in style.
But that market is not me.
Best of luck to people who like the new League.
I'm moving to Heroes Of The Storm, where the women are badass and the characters are intriguing and don't make you cringe.
