Like imagine Ezreal vs Vayne. Ezreal isn't very experienced at all, he just found a magical gauntlet that lets him teleport. If Vayne was to have a reason to kill him, even tho she probably never would, Ezreal would go down. But now think about Vayne V.S. Malphite or Aurelion, they're literally giants.
that's true, but the pool wouldn't be as diverse if everyone was at the same power level. you would have to give weak guys some super mega power up, or majorly downplay the strength of every near god-like being.
Are those power gaps actually important? Vayne will probably never meet Aurelion Sol or Malphite. See, most if not all champions that are extremely powerful (Sol, Xerath) interact in an environment where they may still be stronger than everyone else, but the dimensions differ. Xerath almost only interacts with the Ascended. Aurelion Sol almost only interacts with the Targonain Aspects and the Void. I can't think of any champion in lore that has a Vayne-to-Aurelion Sol-like power gap to his environment.
What is this, Dragon Ball Z? Who cares about the power gaps? Is every character suppose to fight every character? A majority of the roster would probably never even meet each other in the lore, much less have a reason to fight each other. I doubt we would ever see a story of

). Of course there's huge powergaps.
This used to be remedied by the Institute - the likes of Renekton and Nasus effectively had their power limited so that it was a fair fight.
