Sett talks about being a half-breed, and talks about his fur, but....

But he's a human with animal ears, and about as clean shaven as a porn star. Where's the Vastaya in him other than the ears? What makes him a half-breed and Ahri not a half breed? I'd have liked to see some more fur on him to make him look like more of a half-breed and less of a regular hairless human with animal ears.

Sett is basically 3/4 human. It would stand to logic that the obvious animalistic Vastayan traits like fur wouldn't show in someone that is biologically closer to a human and would present itself in a smaller way (like his ears). The other traits are his insane strength and "ability to take endless amounts of punishment". Sett is stronger and is from my perspective, far larger than a normal human.

Sadly that is the problem with stories in games. Characters have to be top tier polished, the most desirable version possible while in the written story they are something way different...

63 upvotes within less than half a hour and less than 150 views? Am I seeing that right?

Edit: seems something is up with the front page overall lol

I guess it begs a question of dominant vs recessive genetic traits, and I'm sure those vary by Vastayan tribe.

Sett is 3/4 human, therefore an human appearence is appropriate. That said, more animalistic traits could have reinforced his origins. Him having some fur on his chest, while making his fur gilet an actual mane could have done all the difference in the world.

Overall I am not displeased with his champion design, with the biggest frustration point to me being his hairstyle. As a fighter, you don't want hair on your eyes; there is no justification for that.

{quoted}

Ahri is a kitsune, or a fox spirit. She is based on eastern traditional lore for being a spirit / demon that disguises itself as a beautiful woman in order to charm (hence her charm ability) men in order to devour them. If you listen to some of her voice lines, they're pretty menacing.

As for Sett, his bestial strength and innate use of magic are his Vastayan traits, aside from his ears.

if this is true that means riot has admitted that vastayans are cannonically the result of furries in runeterra.

thank you for coming to my ted talk.

i mean, nidalee probably wouldn't have access to makeup in the jungle but her splash sure looks like she does.

Other comment basically said it, the splash is meant to look good not necessarily reflect the actual champion in the lore. Which is why nidalee's picture in the universe makes her look quite a bit more gnarled up then the splash. I imagine the next picture they put out for sett might be a bit more animalistic. Perhaps in the splash sett's hiding something? (maybe he shaves his fur, and hides a tail? idk)
