So congratulations on this fine skins. I will be acquire each one (except Cosmic Lux maybe which I will explain).

Each skin is amazing. Even Malphite who at first I was like wth? But he looks great. Xerath is awesome. Good job solid 100.

Now for my complaint. Mordekaiser's skin is incredible but he was supposed to be legendary. But ONCE AGAIN Rito decides to milk their overused, annoying and tired AF Lux again. Ok so one legendary I could get behind. But you decided to to do 2 so I said in my mind "the other one will be Morde as was planned." But instead you gimp Morde out of a legendary and give ANOTHER Lux skin as legendary. Wth Rito? 2 legendary Luxs? Why? We get it you love Lux. One would have been enough. It is COMPLETELY unfair and preposterous that you robbed Morde or any other champion who isn't one of your cash cows of a legendary skin he deserved.

Ok now that my angry speech is done I can say I will be getting all the skins except Cosmic Lux because that skin stole Morde's glory and it is straight up wack!

Now back to some postives: I do love that Xerath has a new skin now and it looks great. I like that Malphite looks monstrous (more than usual) although I wonder what Maokai would look like as a DS. And of course the best of all Mordekaiser. Nice.

A Morde legendary at his current popularity and power would sell a lot. A Lux legendary is just another skin to buy, why buy both legendaries when you can just buy her Ultimate skin and get 8? While I understand why Riot did it, it does seem a little misstep and it has sadly taken away from the fact Xerath and Morde are actually getting skin as well the RPG skins. If Morde got the Legendary, Lux was part of it but just 1350 and all other champs got the 1350 as they are, most people would talk about how good the skins were instead of "Why Lux?"

Keep in mind that the 2 Lux skins are variations of each other, so they aren't really 2 legendaries, but 1 of them is basically a high-quality chroma of the other, similar to Eclipse Leona or Lancer Blitzcrank.

I'd love for Morde to have a Legendary, but from the previews I've seen, Dark Star Mordekaiser literally looks like a closet Legendary. I mean, he lacks a voiceline overhaul and a whole slew of new animations, but I can see why:

  • Mordekaiser is a relatively new Champion (in terms of aesthetics) due to his rework, and his animations are already top-notch and modern. There was little point in redoing them, especially since his abilities have relatively basic animations anyway (he's just swinging a gigantic mace, after all)
  • Mordekaiser's base voice lines are metal AF. I'm disappointed he won't have a bunch of lore-specific voicelines because he's not a Legendary, but hearing his amazing base voice lines with a Dark Star voice filter is also amazing

So other than the two above points, he has everything a Legendary does, and the rest of the skin is arguably at Legendary quality (from what we have seen so far). He has skin-unique VFX, SFX, voice filter, Recall animation and I think I even heard a few extra skin-specific voice lines (not a voiceline overhaul like Lux though).

So here is a new skin, priced at 1350 RP, that is actually the quality of a Legendary priced at 1820 RP. This seems like a win to me. We get it cheaper and the only other cost is that instead of a red Legendary gem on its icon its a blue Epic gem.

Besides, lore-wise, Dark Star Mordekaiser is the first Dark Star skin to have been confirmed to previously be a Cosmic, so in a sense he's like the fully corrupted state of Dark Cosmic Jhin and Lux. So for the lord nerds out there, that point is also pretty nice.

You can't really do much with Morde's model like you can with Lux. Her Q can be a shooting star, her E a blackhole or dying sun, her ult as you see has planets in it.

I'm so mad at the Lux skins you have no idea. First, she already has enough skins as it is, as many many people have tirelessly pointed out already. Second, she looks like a copied and pasted Dawn/Duskbringer Soraka. With the long hair, the long staff and everything! She doesn't even look like Lux she looks like Soraka...

yeah i don't know why they didnt make mord a legendary and getting real tired of these e girl champs getting these duel skins ngl

give me a new versus skin as good as god king and if you cant do that atleast riven vrs yasuo tier tbh

My biased opinion, as someone who started playing in 2012 and preferred Mordekaiser since, seeing him in all three iterations...

With the rework last year, I was hopeful he'd be getting a skin not long after. While I was hoping it'd be sooner, it wasn't too delayed (meaning, reworking him and leaving his skin selection neglected for another year+ after the Morgana skin rework treatment, which was... okay in some regards but skimped on others). However, a lot of skins these last few years seem to be less original ideas, and more aditions to existing themes (Star Guardian, Cosmic/Dark Star, High Noon, the technically-different-skin-lines-but-practically-the-same-feel-of-mech/robot of Project, Program, Mecha Kingdoms, , and now Elderwood is growing too [I like this one though], etc.). I even posted to another thread that Dark Star is one of the more common/my least liked (does NOT mean unliked!) lines, and I'd be disappointed if, say, Mordekaiser got a one and done with one of the skin lines like that.

Then, the teaser video came out, and I saw it, it was clear it was a Dark Star, and I was like... "whelp, whatever, he had nothing for 5 years prior anyway so meh is less bad than nothing".

Then I watched the recent Skin Spotlight video on it, and my opinion almost 180'd. I think the ultimate is hit or miss, the Black Hole is the backdrop is INSANE but with your screen around the realm itself, you can't see it much or at all and everything is just a lot of Grey (I understand why, for readability probably). Everything else though, and even that, is superb. The way the video ends with not one... not two.. not three... but SEVEN FREAK'N METAL MEN... that's so much metal. And most of the Chromas look great (it's rare I like half or more of them, which isn't a problem since liking one is good enough, but I like almost ALL of these).

I still hope Mordekaiser gets another skin or so in the near-ish future at 1820 or above (Ultimate would be fantastic), preferably with something new or original. But, still, fantastic job on this one.

As what other skins other champions get... meeeeeh. I already have a few for Lux that I like better (Battle Academia, Elementalist, Steel Legion [do more with this line Riot!], and Speelthief are enough for me when I have more anyway). So I'm not upset about what others got; it's whatever. I'm just happy Mordekaiser (and Xerath) get some way overdue love, and I have small hopes Mordekaiser gets more in time. Almost ten years old and didn't even have an Epic until now, haha.

People talking about Lux getting many skins, but what about Kalista? I don't even play Kalista but feel bad for her mains, she got no skins at all.

Morde looks like shit, everything else is pretty good, imho. Lux's skin should've gone to Liss or Syndra though.
