I'm sorry? HotS has 3 FRANCHISES worth of lore. Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, it has metric shit tonnes of it to draw from. Warcraft has 4 games, each having its own expansions, Starcraft has 2 games with multiple expansions, Diablo has 3 games with multiple expansions. All those series also have books, comics and other forms of story outside of the games.

And what do they do in HotS ITSELF? Inside the game nothing is done, they just take from other games in the franchises. Lore & Art representation: hell, not even a splash art.

Also some characters are... I'm not sure, but for example Azmodan, even with taking all Diablo lore... seems pretty replaceable to me. "Hurr Durr True Ruler of Hell! Hurr Durr EVIL!".

They have a few fleshed out characters, protagonosts form other games (or main atagonists), but the rest is kinda... well... let's take Srgnt. Hammer for example. It's a siege tank. Wow. That's all xD

They don't need to do shit in HotS itself, because they have the 3 franchises to build up their lore. They've been doing it for over a decade! They have books, comics and games galore to embellish their lore and have been doing so for closing in on 20 years for some of these franchises.

You're comparing two things that are distinctly different: League is one game, the lore is for that specific game, that's it. HotS is an amalgamation of four (likely five when Overwatch gets released) franchises, with all four being twice as old as League. Comparing lore between them is pretty much nonsensical in my book.

HOTS is from Blizzard, and Blizzard is know for making good quality games that the fans like. What did Riot make, one game, and that game is only pleasing more than a third of its player base. As you said HOTS already won, because it is Blizzard. The name of the company alone can influence people and their decisions.

I'll say it again. HotS has only a fraction of LoL's player/viewer base. You may disagree - so be it. Riot is not a God-tier company but Blizzard has done nothing but disapoint in the last few years. I have zero faith Blizzard will do the right thing to turn HotS around and even with their near limitless resources, they'll let the HotS ship sink eventually. These are my predictions. Perhaps if that statement meant HoTS is so insignificant in the MOBA scene that LoL doesnt have to compete with them, sure you can confer that and I wouldnt mind. If it means that LoL "doesnt needs to compete because it just surrenders to HotS because Blizzard Huge! or its a different genre alltogether" would make my logic inconsistent - But I never once said anything to that train of thought. You have a persecution complex because you somehow feel that someone responding to your insult by insulting you back means they've attacked you first.

Im more of a LoL player than any other Blizzard (insert game here) player and Im not "a fan" of Blizzard per say, didnt even play much of their games, but I do think that Blizzard knows how to make games properly. I mean come one, numbers alone dont make a game (even though Wow revolutionized gaming as a whole but I digress), its the quality of the game as well and right now, Blizzard is better than Riot, without question. What he said is perfectly justified. Cause they have the money, the decades built reputation and the enormous talent working for them.

Ah, this makes sense why you see Blizzard differently than me. Back in the day, I was super huge into Blizzard games. I played the crap outa Sc1, D2, D1, Warcraft 2 and Warcraft 3. So after Blizzard took its 10(?) year hiatus after WoW's release, imagine my excitement when Blizzard announces Starcraft 2 in 2010. Maybe I just grew away from RTS's because the game play of SC2 felt the same as SC1 but I just didnt feel it. What hit me the hardest was the single player campaign, SC1 to this day has one of my favorite story lines of any video game. Fantastic character building, awesome universe, Arcturus Mengsk was one of my favorite villains. Come in SC2, the story line was atrocious. Why does Raynor have this serious boner for Kerrigan all of a sudden? This 'forbidden love' was shoe horned in (For absolutely zero good reasons) and became 90% of the plot. Arcturus Mengsk who was once this charismatic and intelligent villain (which imo, is one of the best villains of any medium) is now a bumbling saturday cartoon buffoon of a villain. To say I was disappointed in Blizzard would be appropriate.

Then in 2011 comes the announcement of Diablo 3, me and my friend would play D2 in lan for hours on end and D3 would be the fix we needed! At the time I was going to college and couldnt (should'nt) have afforded the game at release - But whats eating less when compared to playing D3? We've played many and many D2 clones but they never scratched that itch. Excitedly we fire up the game and.. we'll the rest is history. D3 was notorious for its horrendous reception at launch. Just everything about its gameplay wasnt right or just plain bad.

I do play hearthstone about once a week, it is a decent game. A placebo to my MTG addiction of years past.

I agree with your statement - if you put it in the past tense. Blizzard [was] better than Riot [in its prime], without question. Blizzard has had a decade of reputation and cache built up from its golden age. Without question they have the talent and resources. Can blizzard make a great game? I have yet still to see. Riot on the other hand (with the exception of its lore - which is beyond fail at this point) has a very solid game.

And about the forum troll, I apologize. Sometimes when I walk by a fence and see a dog barking and slobbering like a feral dog on rabies, soooometimes I like to slap the fence to provoke it into a wild fury. Not a great quality, I realize but doesnt make it any less fun. :3

Is there really a point to write more than that? Vella is a free unlock for everyone who owns Diablo III and as far as playable character personalities and lore in that game go, her popularity is only second to ~~Azula~~ Li-Ming and Anajinn. She doesn't really need even more lore when she already has a 5-act game, a bunch of side material and another expansion pack in development.

A 5 act game that somehow has 0 individual story apart from right.clicking different kinds of monsters while featuring zero character development... If they would feature that jewlery merchant (I love that guys story) as a hero... at least that guy HAS lore... Meanwhile the Demon hunter is a cardboard character, completly replaceable... Or hell, why not Deckard Cain? Make your enemies stay a while and listen...

Also... strange... I have D3 and I don't have her. She's just in the free rotation right now if I remember correctly

If you really somehow missed piles upon piles of dialogue, narrated cutscenes and banter between Vella and her companions while dungeon-crawling, the problem is likely with you and not the game.
