Kathus had no real power before he went to the shadow isles, and thresh...well thresh's new lore sucks compared to the old prison warden one so I'd prefer to just let that die instead of elaborating on it with a skin.
I agree that a pre-shadow kalista would be nifty (so would hecarim, but that might prove difficult) but a lot of the other shadow isles champs were nobodys until they were corrupted.

They did not have access to unprocessed lines. Syndra is older than Kalista, I would expect Kalista to have a better shot, but I just want clarification that such a thing is possible for Kalista.

DeathBurst4 votesWell, no that wouldn't set a precedent because we ALREADY have plenty of precedents with all those pre-void/young skins (Kassa, Ryze, TF+Graves, etc.).
It may not be original, but it's still a damn cool idea. And Kalista deserves it more than most Shadow Isles champs, because she's a (relatively, by SI standards) positive force in the undead cast, and she was already a significant character (great general of a powerful king) before her transformation. Compare that to Karthus/Yorick who where basically old monks without anything special or Thresh who was just the same sadistic wretch except without all the powers, Kalista could get a great deal out of that skin idea.

And there's no precedent in the case of kass and malz because they're the only ones afflicted by the void. Graves and TF were done for a one-off event. There's like 10 or so shadow isles champions. Not all of them are gonna get a pre-undeath skin but if one of them does, people are gonna cry favouritism for riot not doing all of them.

Of course when you mention a good idea, people will try to apply it to less good fits and to pretty much anything, like, I'm pretty sure that every single of the 130+ champ has a Pool Party skin fanart somewhere, that doesn't mean the initial idea isn't good.
And Human Kalista is definitely a good idea in my book, that could definitely enrich the champion itself, and the lore if it gets its own VO. And your arguments against it are bulls.

I imagine they'll give her more cool swag once they fix her kit (I remember seeing a tweet or post somewhere that they'd really start tweaking her during preseason)
