What's with the moodyness in draft pick queue?

It's all misty and gloomy, with humming voices...

The whole design, to me, is still reminiscent of the Summoners ordeal.

In champion select, there's the spheres that kinda remind me of the crystal balls (used by summoners) magic used by summoners where the champions portrait show.

It's like us players are still them, the summoners. Like we are lying down with our heads submerged in some special liquid (think the "Pensieve" in Harry Potter) to journey into... whatever it may be.

Anyways, it made me wonder of explanations for it.
