After reading peeps comments on surrender at 20 I realised of the other possibility which is Spooky Gangplank becoming his standard skin, while his original becomes ... not standard! I'm sure people have talked about it before tho.
But I think he's not really dead and they're just teasing.

Being so, PROJECT: Yasuo could have been originated from some Zaun engineer. Motivation? Could be anything, like paid to do so BY THE ELDERS MURDERER -- for whatever reasons ^_^
You had me until you mentioned project yasou.....which isnt lore related just a fun skin.
Sion wouldve been a better connection since the black rose revivied him.
I'm not saying it is -- I'm saying it could! :D in the future.
PROJECT: Yasuo could be an enemy Yasuo encountered in his adventures, where he is forced to confront himself, maybe an enemy who would work like a mirror, and to defeat his look-alike he'd have to defeat himself internally first, his dark side -- which would be finding redemption.
Redeemed Yasuo -- New skin, he has a lighter look to him, a smile on his face.
