Summoner's Rift non-canon?

So I think I heard somewhere that Summoners and the Institute of War were/are being retconned to not exist in Valoran's cannon anymore? Does this technically make Summoner's Rift's title non-cannon?

Well its possible that the location does still exist somewhere in runeterra and that it is still called summoners rift just for different reasons.

Well the IoW was made no existent last September, and we thought Summoner's were going the same way, but apparently they are still a thing according to Jaredan, they're just radically different. What this means I don't know, though I'd hazard a guess that the big client update that'll (hopefully) come out at the start of the new season might glean some answers.

Summoner's Rift's a bit of a dubious one, because given the fact we had this retcon of Summoner's you'd expect it to be non-canon, but the Rift's VU actually implies it's a legit location in Runeterra with its own history and stuff. I personally hold to the belief that Summoner's Rift is a canon location, although I don't recall if any Rioter's actually confirmed that. I'll stick to that until proven otherwise for now, since I kinda prefer the Rift still being canon in this new way.

Well for one, the river flowing trought SR is not the Serpentine River, its something else...God I wish Tarics Full Relaunch has something to explain about that place.
