As Kayn, I'm always sad when its time to transform

Was just watching the special interactions video for the new Odyssey Kayn skin. I love their lines, and Kayn and Rhaast play off of each other possibly even better than base Kayn & Rhaast; which is something, because I really enjoy that part of the character.

But one thing I was reminded of was how their lines just aren't as good once they lose the other: when they transform, Rhaast is all "kill kill kill" and Kayn is...still a pompous asshole, but with no Rhaast to banter with. Since the banter is one of my favorite parts of Kayn&Rhaast's characters, its always disappointing after their transformations. I was hoping with the new VO for the Legendary skin that maybe one or the other would stick around and continue that banter, but alas...

I'm not expecting any change or anything like that: as I said, I love the new VO, it's great. And I'm also aware that keeping both Kayn's and Rhaast's voices after the transformation isn't really true to the character. At the core of their banter is a power struggle that results in the other erased from existence, its a really cool plot that the player gets to play out. Still, one can dream.

This one line though, as Shadow Assassin Kayn, just kills me. He gets a kill and says "Did you see that Rhaast? Heh heh...Rhaast?"

How tragic is it that Odyssey Kayn is apparently so lonely that he misses when his dangerous, out-to-kill-him scythe buddy is gone? D:

Anyways, just something I noticed. How do y'all feel? How do you like Odyssey Kayn or any of the other skins?

I would love a skin where Kayn sticks around after turning into Rhaast, like he gets bound into the weapon instead

Well I like how Rhaast goes out of his way to annoy and roast Kayn but how sometimes they are on the same page. But I like the openings of both of their transformations. Those lines that they say when Kayn transforms are my favs. And seeing the difference between shadow assassin and darkin is nice. But we will all miss the strange love hate relationship they had.

i think it speaks more to how lonely kayn is as a person in general.. even his base skin.. he's always striving for acceptance.. surpassing Zed, being the best.. it all scream "help me, i'm so alone on the inside!" and considering he's based on Anime antagonist/anti-heros, specifically Sasuke Uchiha, and those characters always need "freindship" or something dumb to "save" them, it kinda makes sense.. so it would go without saying, that on some level Kayn will miss having a companion, having someone there to see his accomplishments.. especially considering that he works from the shadows.. literally never being seen.. as for Rhaast, he's ancient.. he's had millennia to fester and seeth.. he lost the need for companionship long ago.. he even hates his own existence, but is gonna take everyone else out with him.. only then can he maybe find peace.. he just wants to watch the world burn, himself with it..

Yeah. I’ve always felt that was the problem of Kayn/Rhaast’s VO. At their core Kayn is a whiny child and Rhaast is a murderous lunatic. Alone they’re interesting enough, but the VO sold them as a bickering duo far better than either character alone.

I think the VO would have been stronger if after the transformation the other voice was still there but faint, or weaker. We’d get Kayn or Rhaast gloating about their victory, but still have some remainder of the back and forth that makes their early game VO actually interesting.

One of my favorite lines is when you buy something and Rhaast says, "Aren't I enough?" Like, Awe. Rhaast!!

Next skin he gets a VO update with, this would be nice. Their dynamic is entertaining, and when you finally transform, you're left with half of a partnership.

I like the idea of a begrudging friendship growing between those two. Makes them more human and less edgy.

The new skin has them bickering like an old married couple that is clearly only together because it's just easier at this point than going through the whole divorce process. And I love it. "Go to hell, Kayn" "Already there, Rhaast, already there..."

Well, whaddya expect? His adoptive father only had one friend when he was Kayn's age. Shen. Then he went off and killed HIS adoptive father and turned his one friend away. It's bound to happen. Embrace the shadows and cast off companionship. It really mirrors their players. Zed and Kayn mains are lonely af. They turn away the only friends they have.

I like the theme that they were going for with these skins, however I think BEST one is for Yasuo. I really like his more than any of the others. Being honest, I don't really care for ziggs' skin. Jinx skins always feel too similar to me, including Ody. Kayn is pretty cool. Sona is weird af in that skin. She just looks weird without the gown animation. Malphite's is ok. All in all, I really like Kayn's and Yasuo's everyone else looks weird.

Honestly the skin is fantastic. But I am pretty disapointed that his forms are just Red and Blue... Especially since his pre form seems to leave an obvious circumstance for Purple Rhaast and Yellow SA.
