@Riot: We REALLY need a relative timeline!

That should be actually a no brainer.

Of course you don't need an exact timeline with year numbers and stuff - just show us in what chronological order the content happened you are releasing. Just what happens after what and you can expand that "timeline" whenever you publish a new part of the puzzle that forms the history of runeterra. If the events have no direct connection it doesn't even matter what's exactly before what... but we need to get the basics down somehow!

That way would also be awesome to give newcomers a quick overview about the content without confusing them. A simple timeline giving access to all the lore content you made... doesn't sound too hard to make no? Take what you have, bring it together and out it on an easy to use website.

So... what do you think about it?

If you followed the lore a bit you would catch on some neat things. Pre-History: Freljord Ice Age

What we would call BC: Shurima Empire Battle of the Three sisters Fall of Shurima Mount Targon was founded Formation of Demacia, Noxus and Ionia as a result of the power gap that was cause from Shurimas fall.

What we would call AD: Bilgewater was created as a haven for Pirates that plunder the new nations Ruined King creates the Shadow Isles. The Harrowing starts

Modern times (most champions were alive during this time): Piltover and Zaun were founded Noxian Invasion of Ionia Battle of Bard Mountain Kalamanda Incident Battle of Avarosa, Winters Claw and Frostguard Rise of Shurima from the sands The Harrowing reaches deep into Bilgewater, MF and Gangplank fail to stop it.

Future situations: Void attack Something something, Noxus vs Demacia

I don't know if the battle depicting in Bard: Mountain should be considered modern times.

If you consider Lissandra's Howling Abyss monologue which can be found here), she mentions "* ... Long before Ashe and Sejuani, before magic shattered the broken peaks, before the desert swallowed Shurima ... *" . The bolded section could very well be the event we see in the Bard video. If it is, then that would put this before modern times even if just slightly.

However, the monologue does refer to "peaks" so I might be totally wrong in my assumption. It could be referring to another event post Iceborne Ice-Age which resulted in the formation of this Mountain, Mt. Targon and the modern territorial rock formations.

Lissandra must be talking about something else. Which is even more intriguing...

In the Wonder Above teaser it says, "There was a time, not long ago, when this constellation was absent from the night sky".

This heavily implies that the events in the animated Bard teaser where more recent.

Oh right, the teaser. I'd forgotten about that bit.

So do we think this is during that big invasion of Ionia by Noxus or would it have been a separate scuffle?

It would be very convenient if we could say for sure that this was during the Noxus invasion of Ionia but my impression is that this relic would've been better defended/secured. Unless of course this was one of the very first strikes of the invasion in question.

We need a map, an accurate, up to date, map to be precise.

At this point, they could give us a blank map and I'd happily fill it in myself.

I know same. It just they wont. I don't know why.

We got two maps, the Freljord one and the Shurima one. One of which is not that precise.

Ya sure, we know were they are. But were are they? Do you understand?

Basically we know were they are but what else, do we know if Piltover is right next to them? Noxus? Demacia?

I understand we got a map in both those events but they don't tell us much for present maps. Freljord basically is just Freljord, which is nice I suppose, since now we know how that place looks like. And the Shurima map was made at the time when Shurima prospered, not present time.

Literally the only thing that we know geographical wise is that Ionai, Bilgewater and the Shadow Isle are in a triangle some were in the ocean. If you have* a map that tells me were everything is after the** retcon,*** then by all means, I would love to see it.

The message about this problem was addressed to a Rioter that will pass it on to the main Map developers. No promises, but at least someone cared enough to do this for me.
