Wouldn't it be cool if Eve, Tahm, Shaco and Nocturne became Demons?

Just like in Full Metal Alchemist, they could represent "sins"-- Mind you not necessarily the Deadly Sins, so as to open champ concepts to more ideas. Their "back story" could be that they torment people based on their specific "sin", and have spread around Runeterra, having different territories where they prey on people.

Tahm: Gluttony (obvious)
Eve: Lust (obvious)
Shaco: Sadism
Nocturne: Wrath (maybe there are cooler themes to explore here)

I've thought of that too, idk if new Eve still has Shadow Isle connections but I think just making her a demon would be cool. She still kills people, and people who "hire" her (even though she isn't paid with money) are basically making a deal with the devil and she'll come back for them eventually. I think Shaco is so weird that who knows what he'd even be, but I wouldn't be upset with Noc becoming a demon either. His guest appearance in Lux and Garen's new lore is awesome. Even if he's not a demon, he's obviously some entity either from outside the world or from some dreamland, and I think that could be more compelling than a demon thing. Who knows though, he's not slated for a VGU and we probably won't get new cannon lore on him until 2047 lol.

I would prefer if Eve's connection to the shadow isles got lost. Frankly it doesn't fit anymore. I agree with the idea you propose of people making deals with the devil.

Can you link Garen and Lux's story? haven't read it but it sounds cool. By what riot has stated, I suspect nocturne to get a VGU around late 2019 or 2020 (keep in mind they are switching gears to rework more champs than they previously have)

TahmKench is a demon, it's confirmed. Shaco Nocturne Fiddlesticks can possibly be reworked as demons And is a demon as well, most likely, since he's the fire spirit that fought Renekton and Nasus

Fiddle and Brand make sense too. Brand could represent wrath better... not sure what fiddle's theme would be. Probably a new one considering his current lore is so one-dimensional

Brand was Elemental Renewal. Cleansing Fire.

By Fire be Purged.

Also he could oppose Frozen Watchers that trapped him, like Gnar.

This is a cool idea and it has potential, but I'm very concerned about champions losing character potential due to being forced into boxes like those created by trying to fill out a roster of 'sins.'

It is the same problem we run into when trying to fill out any roster with every type of a zodiac, calendar, or any other trope.

I would much rather Riot release skins for each of these themes for these characters rather than try to pidgeon-hole the champions into these specific archetypes entirely.

Of course the characters should be more complex than one "sin". Take Tahm for example... he already covers gluttony, but is a more complex character than just that. Also taking other anti values as pillars for characters other than the deadly sins could be cool as well

I appreciate where you are trying to go with it, but IMO it would be better to develop the characters fully on their own and then make the sin-skins for them if they fit.

Arguably you are correct these themes fit these characters, especially Tahm Kench and Evelynn, but still the skin would be a more flexible solution as it would allow the characters to remain who they are at their core. And Villains / antagonists are always better if they are multifaceted rather than just fitting a single trope or place in a roster.

They already have horseman themes with Darkin. I dunno if we LoL daemons have to be judeo-christian. There are other types, but it is popular.

The darkin are horsemen of the apocalypse? I have never read about this. Sure they waged war and wanted to destroy the world; there are some parallels there for sure. However I don't think they necessarily inspired by them.

I certainly wouldn't want the "demons" to only showcase the deadly sins; I think other anti-values would also be cool to explore. stuff like doubt, sadism, aggresivness and the like would also be cool

Rhaast and Aatrox interaction.

Kayn "Death and War, this will be delicious." Rhaast is wanton Death. Aatrox is endless War.

Rhaast and Varus interaction

Kayn "We find Aatrox... and it's a party. Of murder. A murder party!" Rhaast also calls him "demon pants". It's unknown how or if Darkin are related to "demons", but TahmKench has an interaction with Aatrox and he's the only champion he calls "Brother". He admits that War is a "mighty appetite" he can respect.

So.....

Kayn **Death **

He is Death's Scythe, and has 7 quotes that mention death.

Aatrox War. Pretty clear from the beginning.

Varus Blight stacks (Pestilence). People have long suspected him of being Darkin related, and being corrupted into the Darkin Bow. With Kayn/Rhaast we actually saw a human in transition. Aatrox is fully changed. Kayn is actively changing even within a single match to Darkin or to master of shadows like his teacher, but wielding a Darkin weapon. Varus may be caught in the middle, but as he says he is "running out of time". If he is apart of this, I think we may get a Darkin who can change at WILL like Elise/Jayce/Nidalee using their ultimate at level 1. A Darkin host who has attained a perfect symbiosis. I suspect that this one may be the Support of the team.

So what we are lacking then would theoretically be Famine and Conquest. Perhaps a Famine-Support (tank?). Tahm Kench could theoretically be this on the team but....I'm not sure. He doesnt fit the Darkin aesthetic but who is to say there aren't "classes" or families of daemons? And then a Conquest-Mid (Assassin?).

The thing is War/Famine/Death are agreed upon. It's disagreed what the first horseman represents (Conquest/Pestilence) but since LoL has teams of 5 if they were to do it, it would likely become 5 horseman rather than 4.

There's very clearly certain themes, tropes, and various mythology being drawn on with various champions. That doesnt mean though, that they have to follow them exactingly. We'll see.

Varus bow was originally....just a bow.

But when Noxus invaded he CHOSE his DUTY to protect the Pit of Pallas and whatever Evil was in it. And not the villages. His family was slaughtered. He lost everything.

So he threw himself into it. That is unless...he's due for some lore update. We don't know where Darkin weapons came from, or how to destroy them. Or if they were whole beings merely reduced to weapons.

Darkin weapons are darkin that were imprisoned in their weapons. However you are right in what we don't know who did it. I think Varus lore will be updated just like Volibear's was recently. The "core" of his lore will remain the same with some adjustment to give him more character and fit him better with current updates
