@Narrative: What are your plans for dealing with AUs?

The phrase "alternate universe" has been always used for skins now, so why am I bringing it up here right now? Because I wonder about Narrtive's stance on it when it comes to future lore and worldbuilding.

For a moment, let's go away from LoL and games and go to somewhere where worldbuilding is already done: comics. Whoever reads Marvel or DC will notice the appearance of different timelines and parallel worlds. Parellel Worlds are something that are like "what if we turn everyone into zombies and make a mini-series of it?" (marvel actually did that). At first it was more like a joke series. No one took it too seriously. But then, in ANOTHER series something crosses over from the zombie AU into the "real world" (Deadpools-Zombie-Head)... We have some skins that would fit into that category... (God, I would pay to see Coporate Mundo and Dr. Mundo meeting up - the conversation will be awesome xD)

Timelines are a bit more tricky, (DC seems to use them a lot...) mostly because they make things even more complictaed than intersecting worlds do. Also, we have some skins that would fit into this (The battlecast series + mecha + debonair + Fullmetal, That seem to be set in (a not so distant) possible future - also, ofc, pulsfire ezreal. )

I know they currently have their hand full with "normal" lore... but how high are the chances of skins getting involved into lore? (Not to mention that this could be used to promote new champs and skins too... looking back at the comics you can see that there are also characters that are in charge of "keeping things in order" - much like Bard, but with a different focus.

Of course not all skins are useable for this, but there are enough to make this one crazy story... I sense a lot of potential within that thought - although I doubt that this idea will be used anytime soon. After all narrative has a lot of more important problems to fix right now.

But I'm still curious about how you think about this...

While I would like the idea of them doing alternate universe stories for their world, they still havent build sufficient lore for their main world (doing a very slow but visually nice process of it). I would rather they finish up building the world they neglected for so long, rather than just jumping to another one.

Would be up for LoL comics though or any visual media for this world they are trying to show us. Or at least give the rights to some reliable fans that are eager to work on lore and do a collaboration in making a more agreeable setting for LoL .

Probably just day dreaming about this, but still....

Hi Kyoki, This is my personal stance on the issue (sorry if I keep saying that, because of my role I kind of have to make the distinction): I'm a big fan of Elseworld/What If?/Alternate Reality stories. However, as Tesla Effect and you both astutely stated, we still have a lot of work to do in standing up our core universe.

This doesn't mean there won't be any ideas for alternate universes expressed through Skins (there are some already there, as I'm sure you're aware), but we probably wont be exploring any of them with story in any depth for a while. The strongest alternate universe stories give a fresh perspective on an aspect of a known universe, we're working on solidifying the core concepts before we can run wild in a different playground, from a narrative sense.

You can still expect cool stuff from Skins though, because, well, they're awesome.
