Amumu's new long lore/story is very good BUT...

It doesn't tell us much about Amumu that we didn't already know. It also doesn't answer the questions we had about Amumu before the lore retcon (which promised more in-depth stories, discussion and explanation about champion's background and lore):

-How did he die? and how did he get revived? -Since he is royalty, does he have any relation with Azir? -Is he a yordle or a human boy? (Which I guess by the way they wrote it, they want to keep it a mystery)

Well things that are actually new: 1.We know amumu was actually royalty and that he was a prince 2.We know now how amumus curse manifests in universe(and why it is so hard for him to find friends) 3.We know that his people celebrated his death for whatever reason

Also the lore hints in my opinion more into the direction that amumu is a boy,not a yordle,with the yordle thing being a rumor,while the story teller(who actually encountered amumu and saw these paintings) says he is a boy.

Overall it at least sets up some of the mystery on purpose,while we can't be sure when we'll get our answers it is appearant that there will be answers,unlike before where it was basically "he is an undead mummy,because mystery"

1- It was known that he was royalty since mummification was a ritual for the high-class. 2- Alright, I'll give you that. 3- Yea, but why did he die though?

Maybe these questions will be asnwered later (as they said champion's lore will be a progressive story) but because of how long they put lore on hold I'm afraid of it taking too long to figure it Amumu's mysteries.

We assumed he was royalty. We never had confirmation. In fact people were upset at the chance he wasn't because he was a mummy.
We don't know why he died. They never went into depth on that in the old lore, since his character is intended to be a mystery.

1.Being a mummy doesn't mean you are royalty,some richer families were also able to afford mummification and sometimes pharaos were buried together with their servants.Also we do know now what kind of royalty he was.

3.I am sure this is going to be revealed in the future,I mean they left intentionally some mysteries about his past

"know" is a strong word, considering it´s an unreliable narrator and it doesn´t even have to be mumus tob, just because he got found there. "indicates" would be a better fit.

An unreliable narrator wouldn't make any sense in this kind of situation. I mean where would be the point in giving us amumus full lore just to mislead us to believe the wrong thing?

Amumu was even called prince amumu and the tomb is known as the tomb of amumu,I kinda doubt that he is wrong about the prince-thing.

Agreed. It's not super uncommon to find a mummy missing from its designated tomb. (Now this is pretty disgusting, then again a lot of things are) anyway, back then grave robbers would steal from tombs and they ground up mummies and used them as medicine. Sometimes they would get caught and the mummy was taken back but put in the wrong tomb. Also Amumu reminds me of Tutankamen the boy king whom I believe died at 16 and I think he was married at 12. The tomb was discovered by Dr. Carter and apparently one of his assistants died of an infection so everyone thought there was some curse.

Basically sums up Rito and lore. Wonder why everything have to be guesswork?

Amumu as a "boy prince" sounds like a strangely neat idea.

I guess he will be a human boy from now, since he never had anything suggesting that he was a yordle besides his size and lore. If they really wanted a yordle mummy he would have ears.

But when you mumify something you want to preserve it as real as it's possible. When egyptians mumified cats they kept the ears shape. Also when the body is mumified it's still quite fresh, they would have to break the cartilage to hide the ears. I think it would be a bit of a desecration of the body. To preserve a body they used Natron salt to dry it out. Although, they first drained the body of blood. They also removed a few vital organs heart etc. and contained them in canopic jars. The brain was not something they saved apparently as it was not deemed important for the after life >.> and (this is also gross) they basically pulled out the brain by shoving hooks up the corpses nose ripping it out. Pets were buried with them often.

I think that the kid saying that Amumu is yordle was a joke about the whole "Amumu- Human boy or Yordle" thing, and that he's a human boy. I also remember rioters saying that when they'll update Amumu they'll probably go for the "human child" direction, rather than the yordle direction.
