A connection between Viktor and Nautilus?

In Viktor's new lore, it notes that he made diving suits that protected the wearer for great depths, and allowed them to lift things well more than they are capable of - it also states that the reason he wanted to override their fear was that the divers were terrified of the ghastly lights and unknown things in the inky depths. Sounds really familiar, right? Nautilus sounds like he wears one of these exact suits, and it also sounds like he succumbed to the things in the inky depths. Is this conjecture, or is this setting up a connection?

This is a possibility. Especially when we realize that most, if not all, of Naut's current lore is probably non-canon by now.

Considering that Nautlius is from Bilgewater and Viktor is in Zaun/Piltover, not likely. Of course, Bilgewater can buy (or steal) suits and potentially get one to Nautilus. Wouldn't Nautilus' suit be more robotic though, instead of just a hulking titan of metal?

Nautilus is only associated with Bilgewater because that's where he came ashore. His lore doesn't indicate who hired his crew or where he was initially from, and it's particularly vague in that it doesn't even confirm that he's originally from Bilgewater.

That sounds like an awfully long way to walk under water, but it's possible. Bilgewater is 13 days away by boat from Piltover I believe, so I'd imagine it would take Nautilus a month or two to walk there on the ocean floor. But as Legacy Hydralpha brought up, he doesn't look like something Piltover would make. It's far too unsophisticated compared to their other intricate creations. The diving suits were made by Viktor AND Jayce for use in Piltover, and I doubt Jayce would make anything that comparatively crude-looking. Although it wouldn't surprise me if Viktor did most of the work, which resulted in the function-over-form look Nautilus has.

To be fair currents are a thing and he could have gotten carried by a strong current he couldn't escape from until landing in Bilgewater

Well, you're assuming he went underwater in Piltover - who's to say he wasn't part of a crew hired in Piltover to do underwater work offshore in Bilgewater?
