Shyvana's new lore is a complete mess.

So what, she is no longer an half-dragon?

She's a full dragon, but she has a human form because a wizard did it?

And she no longer is unable to control her shapeshifting, but she can actually turn into a dragon whenever she wants (so much for her "I can't control my dragon form" thing)?

If she can shapeshift when she wants, why does her gameplay still make it look as if she can turn into a dragon only when she's angry?

And suddenly human beings are nice people who helped her, and she never was shunned for being non-human?

And why does her new lore mention her flying if her actual gameplay shows she can't fly at all (she can only crawl)?

Can we please undo this mess? The only thing I appreciated of her new lore is that it's no longer Jarvan helping her; it's her helping Jarvan.

I thought the reason they were being nice to her is because she was helping Jarvan IV, the prince of demacia, I figured they saw it as someone who could be trusted since she was helping the royal family and what not

I agree that its rather awkward for her to be now the product of a human mage accidently infusing her egg with his magic,but overall I like the change that the dragon that followed her was her own mother. Before it was kinda weird that a random dragon decided to pursue Shyvana,so this change was welcomed. And she was only accepted in this one village,when Jarvan returned with her to demacia,it was said that others questioned his decision,implying that she was only "accepted" because Jarvan IV was the one who hired her.

She's totally still a half-dragon. Now, however, there's not the awkward question of "how does a human mate with a dragon". It's a bit of a weird solution, yeah, but I like it more than the alternative.

You also don't want to conflate gameplay with Lore. All kinds of adjustments are made to keep things fair. The reason Shyvana doesn't fly in game is probably the same reason Corki and Anivia only fly two feet off the ground. It would be hella busted if she could just shoot herself up into the sky and be completely invulnerable to the number of League champs that are just "a guy with a sword."

This lore retcon is Absolute SHIT. They straight-up ruined Shyvana's character concept. She's supposed to be THE human-dragon hybrid, not a full dragon that happens to have a human form due to wizardry bullshit.

Yeah the new lore needs a lot of explaining. I guess they wanted a way to explain the dragon X human thing without copying wow but it just seems a bit convoluted. If the mage was a troll would she be a half troll? Did the mage intend for this to happen? Was there something special about the mage? As you said how is she tolerated in Demacia but Lux still has to hide her magic even though they are both agents/soldiers of the state? Also how did she manage to rip her mothers heart out with her claws when it clearly states she lost her dragon form and was basically defeated. Does that mean her human form weapons are part of her body? How big is her dragon form exactly? Is she smaller than her mother and other dragons? In her short story she is able to lift the vellox in her human form so I assume it wasn't exactly massive and neither is her dragon form?

Technically she is still a half dragon, though now it's due to magic fucking things up than a dragon and human fucking.

And you could interpret her rage meter as showcasing how much harder it is for her to contain her rage and just transform. She can do it at will, but probably doesn't like doing it whenever because she doesn't want to be that discriminated.

Though I did expect more people to be weirded out by the purple skin lady. But I guess helping a wounded soldier tells them that she's ok.
