I doubt it. According to the leaked lore piece amumu was a shuriman prince,which would mean that he is most likely older than Azir,while Annie lives at the same time as everyone else(the vodoo lands are still a rather new nation)

Ok but jokes aside I could imagine that annies dark powers(or maybe the powers of her parents?) are able to lift or at least weaken the curse to some extent.

The vodoo lands are full with dark mages,they are most likely experienced with curses.

Roll with me on this:

The curse deflects people with lesser magic aptitude. It literally forces them back and makes them think Amumu is a monster. Annie's magic is not only strong enough to combat the curse's influence, she is able to bypass it and actually be friends with Amumu.

That is why Amumu only has Annie for a friend. Not because she is the only one who cares, she's just the only one powerful enough to counter it.

That only applies if he's in love with her. Canonically, they were only Friends.

Not only that, but how do you decide what age someone is In situations like Being Frozen(Gnar) or Going to an alternate Dimension where time Moves at a different pace(Lulu) or being mummified?

I mean you COULD go with the Literal "How many years have passed in the world" Which would make Gnar, Lulu, AND Amumu thousands of years old, But then they were also Preserved in one way or another.

Riot said Gnar was something around 4 years old When he was Entombed in Ice. Mentally and Physically, he's still About 4.
Lulu Was a young Girl when she entered the Whimsy. She spent a year in there, Which was like, 1000 Years in Valoran. Physically and mentally, she's still a Young girl.
Amumu Died and was mummified (And Cursed) as a Child. Mentally and Physically he's still a child, although the physical part is more to the fact that dead people don't age.

Basically, should we take their Literal age into account when it comes to decision-making, or Should we think more as if their Aging was Paused? Would it be pedophilia for Lulu to have a crush on Veigar? Would it be Pedophilia if, when Gnar gets older He gets a crush on another yordle?

Honestly, I don't think so. That'd be like a 5-year old going into a cryostasis, coming out 2 years later, and now being allowed to legally drink and Drive. He's still 5, you can't give him that. In these Cases, it's better to go with the Ages they were before (Or for Lulu, the ages she Actually Experienced.) than to Go with the Literal "Thousands of years have passed, therefore they are thousands of years old."

For Lulu it's easy. Time is relative, so you track ones age according to the places one goes to and the time one spends there.

Gnar gets a bit trickier, depends on how the stasis works I guess. It probably pauses the aging process, making it quite simple: pause the tracking of age when someone is in stasis.

Amumu wasn't in stasis and was on Runeterra. He's 10000 years old in my book, I can't help it if he didn't age mentally.

well, putting a kid in cryostats for two years and letting them drink wouldn't make sense no matter how you cut it, because then they are either 5 or 7, but definitely not legal age...

I think the whole "The curse pledged nobody would be his friend" thing is more Amumu internalizing the fact that he really must be doomed. It is a sad and dark place to be, but I've gone there before when life just sucks and you mess up your relationships and feel like you are doomed to always screw up just when you feel like life is getting to be ok. It is very easy to feel like life sucks because of this, and if you let it get to your head, you can start to introspectively rerun the whole issue over and over until every scenario you imagine turns out worse and worse and paranoia about how you act and how you affect others sets in. I don't think this is supposed to literally be the curse speaking to Amumu, but more Amumu becoming totally distressed over his plight to the point of giving the curse false sentience so that he has something he can direct his anger at.

#JUST HAD A THOUGHT about Amumu's curse...

What if..........Amumu's curse is NOT a friendship curse, but a Mental Curse.

His page for the video, and the video itself says "The curse whispered to him" that he would NEVER have any friends.

Maybe the curse, is a curse of negativity, low self esteem, etc. Hence, Annie as listed COULD be his friend but Amumu himself doesnt see or recognize the friends he has?
