@Lore Team What happens to Reworked Champions and Removed Items after they're gone from the game?

Do they completely disappear from the lore entirely, or do they still exist in some aspect? For Example:

Does pre-rework Evelynn still exist within the Shadow Aisles?

Did Ezreal still end up discovering Wriggle's Lantern in the Kumungu Jungle?

I'd assume not, but it'd be interesting to think abut.

I think items are still in the lore but champs are definitely retconned

They completely disappear. It's like when Thannos snaps fingers but you DON'T go into the soul stone. Basically like you never existed. ....unless their kit is still similar to it's former carnation that is.

Depends on the kind of rework:

  • For some like Ryze, they swapped out their spells. That's it. He swapped out his active spells for new ones.
  • For some like Akali coming up, they learned more, developed, and became a more advanced person. They grew, and their kit also grew. I feel like we'll see a lot more like this.
  • A subset of the above: People just learned more about them, and learned more of what they actually are. Hence, their lore changed, because what was known about them has actually changed. I assume this is the case for Evelynn, but I'm not 100% sure what the old lore for her was anyways...
  • Some just got put into the actual lore, meaning they haven't actually changed at all. They've always been like that in the "real" Runeterra. Jax was never part of the Institute of War or anything, as it never existed in the first place.
  • Finally, you have to remember: The champion we control is not the real champion. They look like them, and have similar powers to them, but they're not them. Powers are limited (otherwise Mordekaiser would just use his entire army of spirits at once, Cho'gath and Galio would take up the entire map, and Bard/Kindred/ASol would become the most absolutely OP champions hands-down, because you have someone who's powerful enough to take care of multiple universes at once, Death incarnate, and someone who could just make a real galaxy on top of you instead of a tiny fireball that Riot calls a "star"). Essentially, Riot limits their powers and swaps them around to make it interesting, but in the "real" world, they have all of the same powers as always.
