Riot - A Thank You and a Question

First Riot, and IronStylus notably, about the only person I remember doing forum posts a year ago about Taric, THANK YOU! You guys listened to us fans and you made Taric beautiful and gorgeous, and such a lovely man hunk. His kit still does most of what it used to do, he sounds fantastic and fabulous and all you guys who worked on him deserve the best cocktails that money can buy, cheers to you all! And here's the question. How does Taric's lore even begin to touch on the whole gems-as-a-source-of-magic thing? From what I read, he was a soldier who wanted to protect life and beauty, and then became the Aspect of Targon that was in charge of that. Yet that set against his voice lines, he speaks of gems as power, makes jokes about them, etc.,etc. His gems are a pretty HUGE part of who he is, and not explaining how he came into this knowledge and use of power is a bit perplexing. It's a little different than with Poppy and Sion, who are fighters by nature and don't have much in terms of weird mystical power. But Taric IS the gem knight, and his massively powerful gems go unexplained in his current lore and it seems like an oversight. So throw us a bone and give us a little more info on how he came to be in possession of this bejeweled power.
