However, looking at his quotes on Wikia, Dark Star Thresh has two taunts for Voidborns: "Pretenders to the throne of annihilation." and "We have looked into the Void, and consumed it." - So peharps the "Dark Star" is an even stronger entity than the Void? Or the Void is part of the "Dark Star" itself, but not everything from the "Dark Star" is Void related. This could explain why Dark Star Thresh is so similar to a Voidborn. Peharps he is not a Voidborn himself, but the Voidborns are parts of an even bigger chain of alien species, from which Dark Star Thresh is also part.

Too be honest, expect being purple, they're not that similar.

Also, Dark Star Thresh is not canon, no meaning to argue.

The Voidborn and the Void itself are nothing but a part of existence that want to destroy everything around them, while Dark Star Thresh and his Dark Star stand for nonexistence itself.

Perhaps the Void creatures ever lasting hunger for destruction is the result of their realm being near a plane of existence that features an actual Dark Star. Something as destructive as that would serve as inspiration for the Void-born to consume everything. It's already proven that they despise sunlight, and are weakened in it, so maybe their world is forever permeated by the presence of a dark star.
