So how well-known is Ryze to "normal" human champions?

His bio describes him as ancient and "widely regarded as one of the most adept sorcerers on Runeterra". Surely, important people in the lore like Swain, LeBlanc, or Karma have heard of him before, right?

If so, how come he's never mentioned in anyone else's story? You would think that champions would consider seeking out an apparently immortal and all-powerful archmage to help out with their problems from time to time, yet no one ever talks about him.

Since Ryze spends most of his time running around in the wilderness trying to find World Runes, he's probably not that well-known. He might even be considered a myth by many of Runeterra's denizens, since he never sticks around in one place for long.

Because of his lack of interaction with humanity, it's likely that most champions aren't aware of him or his mission. I'm assuming that Ryze will eventually get sucked into a narrative or be given a rival/ally, but for the moment he's all on his own.
