So about Jarvan X Shyvana

So after posting about how Shyvana could've been a Noxian in terms of lore, I then started to think about the relationship she shares with Jarvan and how apparently everyone jumped to the conclusion that they're lovers. But I'm not going to ask about how or why they should be lovers. I mean I can see the reason why people would think this: Jarvan helps Shyv by helping her kill the dragon that killed her father and offered her a spot within his nation, showing more kindness to her than any other human has since. And from that she grows an attraction to him.

Again I understand where people could get this but to me this doesn't seem to fly with me. One, she's been horribly treated by dragons and what we can assume almost every human for her entire life. Just because one shows more kindness than most doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be attracted to them, rather you just have a very close friend.

Two, judging from feedback on my recent post Jarvan only helped her simply by being moved by her story and overall trying to gain a benefit for his nation, at the same time trying to develop his nation to new possibilities of letting more non-humans in when he is king.

Three, there really isn't anything to heavily hint that there could be a connection of romance between them. Take Quinn for example. During her lore, she mentions on how when she met Jarvan she wasn't expecting him as he was. To me, and possibly many others, that's more of a hint that she has an interest in him. With Shyvana it just ends with her accepting and wondering if humans have a right to fear her. That's it.

Finally in contribution to my second statement, I don't think the nation would exactly take it well if Jarvan decided to marry her. Remember, he's trying to slowly develop his country to try and accept new ideas. Letting a half dragon into their home is kinda a big step already, most likely putting a lot of people on edge already. If he then suddenly decided to announce a relationship or marriage to her, I think their could be a huge uproar about him being king. In a way I think him marrying Quinn would be a better move for him. I mean, again, she shows interest to him, they're both from different social classes with her originally being a farm hand if I remember and him, of course, being a prince, and overall I just see that happening a lot better.

Those are just my reasons for why I don't see it. I also know that there are other shippings with her like Shyvana x Riven and whatever else is out there but these are, to me, specifically fan made shippings, as is this one. However this one is probably the biggest because people can see why it could happen and most logical to actually happen. But what I want to know is do you guys ship this? It's fine if you do or you're like me and you don't. I'm just curious about what other people have to say about this shipping.

I've always equated them as two people who have a closer understanding of who they are than anyone else. Jarvan sees Shyvana, and Shyvana sees him. It's not a case of a 'The Prince of Demacia sees a half-breed dragonborn' or vice versa. Thus, they have a closeness akin to brother and sister in arms than anything else. In this case, Jarvan's extension of a place in Demacia may seem more familial than anything else.

It puts an interesting color on Shyvana's choices in Demacia, as well. Her steadfast loyalty to her battle brother may let her endure more trouble from Demacia than she otherwise would. There is also the drama of a growing decision to leave Demacia should she not find a place there for her.

Jarvan himself is buried in political intrigue so deep he may or may not come out of it alive. The needs of the royal courts will be powerful against him in Demacia, and if he is to succeed, he is going to have to tow the line a bit. Should romantic intention exist between them, it's highly probable it'd die out or be stopped because he has to be the king for his nation.

Thus, there is a lot of different levers in their relationship with each other, Demacia, and their ultimate goals.

On a more personal basis, it never struck me that Shyvana would have a compulsion to stay in Demacia for very long. Wandering and having no place in the world is a core component of her story, and its resolution is a major turning point in who she is. The writers could make living in Demacia that thing for her, but as written, I am under the impression it's more a phase than anything. She may or may not return later, depending on how her relationship with Jarvan remains. I can't imagine them turning against each other unless someone else directly intervened and broke them apart, really.

First of all, ships are kinda stupid and don't really make sense. Secondly, I feel as though it's very probable that when Shyvana receives kindness from a human, and an important one at that, she then develops an attraction for him. We don't know if it's there, or reciprocated, but I feel as though it's not completely far-fetched.

To me, I think that Shyvana has more a a friend type relationship with Jarvan, or possibly see Jarvan has her savior, a substitute to her father, father figure? They respect teach other and she guards J4 as a loyal bodyguard but that's about it. I also agree that Quinn is the best choice for J4 if he were to marry. That said, If J4 marries Quinn and Quinn becomes Queen. I will bow down to the great Queen Quinn humbly with respect and worship her like a low class peasant I am. Lol

Why does J4 have to settle for 1 woman (quinn as you put it) when he can get a harem with countless women from all across the world? He is the prince!

About your question. I am down for RivenXShyvana, it makes more sense to me.

I always saw it not as Shivana x Jarven, but more like Shivana -> Jarvan. One sided crush vs full blown relationship and all that.

Apparently, being a half-breed has some weird consequences, like having messed up hormone levels and suddenly feeling h*rny at random times. This doesn't really contribute anything, I'm just saying.

Anyway, I too have wondered about this ship. All I can really say is that I don't see Shyvana (or J4, for that matter) as being the kind of person who falls in love quickly, or even at the normal pace. In the end, I don't think Jarvan would fall for Shyvana, and Shyvana wouldn't even try to find love unless someone else made the first move. I just don't think that love is a priority for either of them. Even Jarvan marrying Quinn sounds pretty far-fetched to me. He seems too focused on his country and crushing his enemies to care about marriage. At some point, he'll take a wife, but for some reason I can't see that happening while Swain is still alive. That's just my take on it though.

Or we could go all leg-day again.

Okay so in theory Jarvan is ACTUALLY LeBlanc, and in terms of lore she could very well owe her life to Jarvan who is actually LeBlanc, so they are lesbians, I mean i ship it, anyways, So shyv operates under the black rose but poses as a figure for demacia. C: Just a small theory
