I personally dislike the new Varus lore

It is quite fascinating how Rito is able to turn one character into three, and yet make each of them more bland and uninteresting than the original whichwasn't detailed to begin with. I am not a professional writer or critic, this is just my personal opinion

Kai and Val have no characterstic or personalities, they are two gay Ionian hunters who have a family. That was it,they have no motives, no background, no connection. They are basically just thereso people who don't like their character will be scared to call them out because others will say they are homophobic. We were told nothing about how they fell in love, nothing about what they care about. Looking at the text bubble alone in the comic they are basically iindistinguishable from each other. And most importantly, they aren't even the character you are playing in game. The story was so focused on the couple who ultimately AREN'T the character you are playing, and basically skip over anything about Varus, the darkin.

The worst way of develipping a character is straight up shoving settings down the reader's throat instead of expressing it through event and action.

The storyline logically makes no sense. First, why the hell did guy1(their characters are so indifferent I might as well differenciate it this way) think a corrupted darkin pool can somehow heal a mortally wounded person? How is he so stupid? Secondly, why did he jump in with guy2? What about his family? His village? What is this Romeo&Juliet style "IDGAF about anything otherthan my love" crap? Varus's motive of "vengence" is so forced it doesnh even make sense. Dude literally tried to destroy mankind, and got locked up for it, now he's somehow taking revenge for...humans protecting themselves from being brutally murdered? Darkins are all so god damn bland, their character is literally just wanting to kill people. The interesting point of Darkin character was supposed to be how it interact with the host, but Guy1 and guy2 seems to just be annoying voices in Varus' head, they are weak as hell.The last page of the comic doesn't make sense either. It feels like the writer just realized how Varus is supposed to be the darkin, and guy1/2 are quite irrelevant, so they just randomly and forcefully merge the 3 together and makes the ridiculous line:"we are Varus". What? Did the two guys give up now?

Afterall, New Varus lore is literally just Kayn's lore, except instead of an arrogant assassin, it's a gay couple. Even if they update Varus' voiceover to.fit this new lore, it will be extremely hard for players to make any connection with this mess of a character. Oh well, at least I can connect to how Varus can't differentiate guy1 and guy2 in his head because their character were so shallow.

Which one was it? Kai or Valmar? He suspected Val, but mortal minds were so simple and muddy that it was hard to tell one from another.
