There are the most obvious like Sion's but who else has very thematic ults to their kit? Ults that fit the character very well while also being awesome to look at?

Garen Garen is as close a thing Demacia has to a paladin as they can get. And nothing proclaims the Might of Demacia as a sword shaped light smite to the face so hard it blurs the Summoner's vision. JarvanIV Charge in, spear in hand, and jump on them. Force them into a one-on-one. They can't get out, you can't get out. Demacian royalty at it's finest. Lux Usually one thinks of a light mage as something other than beam spam. But Lux makes it work. Another burst of Demacia! Gangplank Only a real pirate would cheat so hard he gets direct aid from off the Fields of Justice themselves. And only a real pirate would be allowed to get away with it. Kennen Heart of the Tempest. Which tempest you ask? The one that's stunlocking your team right about now! Leona The Avatar of the sun. Calls down the sun. Paladin figure raising her sword and calling her deity to smite her foes. Orianna Orianna is crafted for the league. And Shockwave is the perfect utility-mage ability. Good ranged Aoe, high damage, high disruption, makes for great follow ups. It's a team focused ability, for a team focused battle arena. Really showing that this robot is made specifically for fighting in the League. Ryze "Ryze is no longer just a mage - he has become a creature of magic itself." ― High Councilor Heywan Relivash And his ult really shows it. Olaf The berserker. Going into such a full on death rage that nothing can hold him back. Forgoing all thought of safety, recklessly abandoning all defense for an all out assault.

Well Viktor Viktor used to have the most epic ultimate in my opinion, it was a literal black hole.

Now after the rework, it looks like a pathetic bug-zapper.

While it did look like one,it didn't behave like one at all(seriously all it did was creating a weird cloud around it) and it was never said to be one.

It also didn't really fit with his character,I mean he is all about using his technology,but then he suddenly creates a chaos storm without any explanation?At least the new one is clearly one of his devices,but the old one just appeared out of nowhere.

Singularities can tend to have gaseous lights storming around them; falling over one another and splurting out in amazing visual fashion. Viktor's singularity is a central point with twisting electrical storms; and totally fits the theme. :P

That said, I don't see the stretch in jumping from breaking gravity via W to breaking gravity via Viktor's R.

The new ult's so lame compared to the old one. Like a mosquito net that glows blue. ;p

The problem is that the old one came out of nowhere

He clearly uses a device when he does his W,but his ult just appeared from nowhere. It looked more like he used magic than technology.

I am not saying the new one looks better,but I think it fits him better.

I think it fitted him perfectly; he's not just your average engineer, he's a mad scientist! And all of his other abilities point to that. The Death Ray, Power Transfer, Gravity field, heck, his ultimate was his W, just taken a step further. Manipulating gravity so precisely, he managed to create a black hole. The accretion disk normally forms around a black hole when it's devouring something. It still says in the ability's description "singularity", and it is known that means a black hole. I think the new one is just a huge degradation and an insult to his capabilities.

The new one also appears out of nowhere. So does the device he throws for his Q. He doesn't carry anything around his belt. One could argue he has devices for R mounted inside his left arm and the third one, since he contracts them both when he's casting. But we're going into a topic that doesn't really make sense - it's about video-game mechanics, how can Nida's spear appear in her hand the moment she throws one?

Its not like singularity has just one meaning https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singularity (also I think his ult is simply called a singularity as a reference to the technological singularity,where machines are able to develop themselves further and further)

And don't you think a black hole would behave kinda differently?You know if it was a black hole it would crush everything,yet it is only an orb flying around with a damaging and silencing dust around it.

And yes the new one comes out of nowhere too,but that goes for almost all skills like this(even annies tibbers comes out of nowhere),but we know what causes the singularity.

Look, I'm a physics student and I know what a definition for a singularity is. And technological singularity is an abstract concept, it cannot represent anything physical and concrete. That's Viktor's ultimate goal, but not his invention. The moment when artificial sentience is developing at an exponential rate, when the technology advances so fast, it is unrecognizable a moment later. "He conjures a singularity point." He's a mad scientist who mastered even the laws of nature. Otherwise, it's just like, he yells "Consume!", and a blue, what, microphone starts floating around, zapping people? It feels underwhelming.

I'm perfectly fine with it not crushing and ripping champions apart, stretching them like spaghetti, for them never to be seen again. What matters to me is the idea of a black hole. Jinx's rocket should also blow enemies to smithereens, it's not like anyone would stay in one piece after being struck by such a huge rocket.

I know that the technological singularity is an abstract concept,thats why I said that it is a REFERENCE,not an actual representation.

And I'd expect a black hole to behave at least somewhat to how it would normally,even if its just watered down. Jinx rocket still flies and explodes like a rocket,but making an ability with a black hole that consists of the bh having a cloud around it that deals some damage and silences(with the actual black hole not doing anything at all),just seems like a waste of a concept.

Even if it was a representation of that concept, it wouldn't be a fitting one, not by a long shot. It would be like the case where a virus were chosen to represent the entire living kingdom. It's just embarrassing.

It would be epic if Riot allowed for their map space-time to twist and bend, for their characters to be ripped to shreds, never to be seen again, but alas, they don't allow such things. At least, not yet. Such a "waste of concept" would be not only on him, it would be on any other champion. Because of the reason stated above.

Viktor's former R looked like a black hole, was creating an accretion disk like it should when it's consuming something.

If you prefer the new one, that's fine - because we just came to the conclusion that our tastes don't match, and there's no point in arguing there. I really really liked the old one. Let's just agree that we disagree.

You could choose Hecarim , or you could be wrong. I remember seeing a 24-5 Hecarim in s3 or 4 just ult 1v5 without fear or backup, killing the enemy carry and leaving the enemy team to fend for their wounds.
