How to make Dragon Master Swain
With the unveiling of Swain's rework, we've seen some complaints (huge shock to the team, I'm sure). I do think it's a testament to the team that worked on Swain that the complaints are mainly about his visual design, but I'd like to propose a compromise here that I think will be good for both sides.
Riot quit making "traditional" skins for reworked champs awhile back. I see a lot of good arguments for that, given that it's a free skin that may not get used much. But I think in this case, I think there's an opportunity to do a paid skin that fills this niche.
The original art with the Dragon Master Swain skin featured a red color scheme. It was so cool that Riot adopted that for the new design of Swain, so obviously it was a big hit (huehue), but making Dragon Master Swain red at this point would be kind of redundant. Instead, let's give him:
- short purple hair
- green robes
- purple spell effects
I hope this version of Swain would be a giant "you're welcome" to Swain's previous playerbase, both acknowledging Swain's roots and giving us a skin that we always wanted. Bonus points for complimenting the purple design that Zyra's Dragon Sorceress model already established for the "evil dragon controller" skin line. I think it fits right in.
There's a poll on the bottom of this to gauge interest about this. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but think about it before you vote "no." This might be a way to get what you want (at least in game) if you're missing Swain's classic visual design.
