As we near the end of August, the anticipation of new PROJECT skins grows ever higher. If previous releases are anything to go by, we'll likely be getting them in early September, along with a new legendary skin following in the foot steps of Ashe and Master Yi. Assuming a standard release, who do you guys think will be a part of the next PROJECT event?

Using the following criteria I've come up with my own list of potential skin candidates:

  1. Champion is human (or has some human left in them);
  2. Champion is not in line for a rework within the next five months;
  3. Champion was not released or reworked within the last five months;
  4. Champion has not received a skin within the last five months;
  5. Champion does not already have a PROJECT skin;
  6. Champion can conceivably fit the PROJECT aesthetic

Potential Candidates

  • Annie
  • Braum
  • Camille
  • Diana
  • Draven
  • Elise
  • Gangplank
  • Garen
  • Gragas
  • Graves
  • Illaoi
  • Irelia
  • Janna
  • Jarvan IV
  • Jax
  • Jayce
  • Jinx
  • Kassadin
  • Lissandra
  • Lux
  • Morgana
  • Nidalee
  • Pantheon
  • Quinn
  • Ryze
  • Sejuani
  • Shen
  • Shyvana
  • Singed
  • Sivir
  • Sona
  • Taliyah

Now, even though all of the above champions can conceivably fit the PROJECT line, there are some who obviously don't feel like proper fits due to their visuals and/or overall aesthetic (i.e. Annie, Gragas). What's more, PROJECT skins are usually given to champions who wield powerful weaponry or technology, rather than those with mostly magic on their side (i.e. Ryze, Morgana). As a skin line focused around identity, humanity, and strong personal values, I've narrowed down the list a bit closer to what I think is most probable. Furthermore, I've removed the champions who already have skins that share visual and thematic similarities to the PROJECT line (Pulsefire, Program, Dreadnova, Mecha, Full Metal, Steel Legion, Headhunter, Hextech, Battlecast):

  • Akali
  • Diana
  • Graves
  • Irelia
  • Jarvan IV
  • Jax
  • Jinx
  • Kassadin
  • Pantheon
  • Quinn
  • Shen
  • Sivir
  • Talon
  • Taric
  • Varus
  • Vayne
  • Vi
  • Yorick

Out of the champions listed, only Jinx possesses a legendary skin, which means the rest are all possible if not very likely candidates for a legendary PROJECT skin (though I have to say it's less likely for Irelia, Jax, and Pantheon, as they are all pretty high on the VGU list).

What are your thoughts? I personally can't wait to see what's in store for us this September, and hope we get a shiny new legendary skin just like the last two years' releases.

The latest leak suggests it's going to be Quinn and Diana, and to my knowledge no Rioter has denied it yet

Remember that "Seth the sand mage" leak a Rioter said was fake?

That said we already know "Championship Twitch" is not going to happen this year.

I think the next patch is gonna be Pool Party and after it could be PROJECT:. Or maybe even later.

I personally would say Vayne is gonna get the legendary. I really think she will.

Vayne is a really popular champion who fits the theme and doesn't have a legendary yet, so yeah I agree she seems like the most likely candidate. (cries in Quinn)

Another factor you can consider for narrowing down is what they fight for Each project champion has an aspect for which they fight for so you can narrow down champions that have similar or equal reasons for fighting that the current project champions have: Katarina Ambition MasterYi Harmony Leona Protection(taric) Lucian Vengeance( vayne, varus) Yasuo Truth Zed Power Fiora Challenge( jax) Ekko Freedom Ashe Unity( jarvan)

And yi has a headhunter skin

You're right about Yi having a Headhunter skin, but it was made before a time that skin line had a solid visual identity like it does today with Nidalee/Akali. I agree it's fairly different enough from PROJECT visually though, so I'll add Akali back to the list (Nidalee doesn't really seem like she'd fit PROJECT).

Well a leak claims that Quinn is getting the legendary. I'm thinking that aside from Diana, the remainder are Shen, Vayne, and taric.

I really hope Quinn gets the legendary, but I have my reservations about that leak. Vayne, Shen and Diana probably have better chances for an 1820, since they're more popular. Quinn combining with Valor to turn into a flying death machine that rains nano-missiles from the sky sounds like it'd be awesome though. "Justice rains from above!"

That leak is most likely another Fake (only the first leak was real, second confirmed fake and this third is iffy) since it's got some really questionable content on it.

I believe this leak, since championship twitch is inevitable. Riot tries their absolute best to make the skin match the artist singing the world's song, and this year, riot invited the Fatrat.

I dunno if they will make another Championship ADC yet. Plus the leak had another Rumble skin and he hasn't seen anything since 2014s Legendary and only had that cause he needed a new model/rigging/ect and that was the best way to do it.

I don't doubt Championship Twitch, but the person who made the leak could've just included him to make it seem more credible after seeing the Reddit post about Fatrat collaborating with Riot. In fact this is why I think Riot hasn't just come out and debunked the leak, because at least part of it is true due to CS Twitch.

Since Leona already has a project skin, I'm surprised Diana doesn't already have one. That and I doubt Annie will get one, since she already has hextech Annie.

Hey no one said those are OUT either. Pool Party skins have been released anywhere between July to September in past years.

Id love Illaoi but the skin line just wouldnt make sense on her.

or maybe thats riots plan, and since Illaoi wants to stay in motion, shes being tortured by being brought back. hmmmm...

Irelia, Jax, Vi, Sivir, Shen, Kass, and J4 makes the most sense IMO

You should have widened '' has not received in 5 months'' to not received a skin during the year cause not even riots 'favorites' get two skins within the same year( only exceptions are tournament picks which aren't riots choice) So very low chance of Diana Talon Vi Quinn

Also there have been exceptions with the rework new skin rule Like Fiora and Taric Heck fioras exception skin was the PROJECT line

Gnar got El Leon Gnar six months after his Snow Day skin. It's not impossible for a champion to get two skins in one year, another example being Jinx who received Firecracker in Feb 2015 and later Zombie Slayer in Nov 2015.
