Elementalist Lux charge rate

I've played a few games both as and with other people playing this new skin and hot damn is it gorgeous. After a few custom matches I noticed a trend in how fast I could achieve the first and second transformations so I began experimenting and I thought I'd share my results and a request to the Skin Team at the end.

First: The passive for Elem Lux claims that "spells that damage champions" is exclusively what charges the transformations, but this doesn't seem to be the case at all. What really appears to be happening is charge is naturally stored based on in game time (possibly up to a maximum amount) and when you use a spell the counter on her elements button updates to the stored value. You can demonstrate this fact to yourself if you own the skin by playing a custom match against a bot and using as many spells as possible in the first 2 minutes of game time (before minions even spawn) and noting the charge will never exceed a fixed value (around 6-7%). Then you can start again and wait to use any spells at all until after 2 minutes and you'll actually have a higher charge from that ONE spell than all the others you used previously.

Now that we've established that it is TIME not SPELLS that charge her transformations we can determine the fastest possible charge time. For the first transform its something like 8 1/2 minutes and for adding in the second element you'll be hard pressed to do it faster than 11 1/2 minutes of additional time. This adds up to about 20 minutes minimum to see any final form which is where my request comes in:

Dear skin team, Please lower the charge time of the second form to be roughly equal to the first. This would allow Lux to get her final form at about 17 minutes. As it stands I never see her final form in bot matches (which is where I spend a majority of my time) and I imagine ARAM has the same problem, with the game mode being so fast.

Thanks for staying with me through this lengthy explanation of my findings on Elementalist Lux, and if you can achieve a faster charge time than I've found please leave me some hot pro-tips to up my Lux game.

I completely agree! I will also add the point that surrenders can occur at 20 minutes (in my normal games, they happen a bit too often) I'd greatly appreciate an earlier second transformations.

On another note, did you test what happens if the spell hits several enemies and whether or not a spell will give MORE elemental charge if we don't hit anything for a few minutes?

I love the skin as well and I couldn't agree more. I feel I get my second transformation somewhat late, especially if a team surrenders

It is somewhat time based, as they don't want you transforming too early, but don't want to lock you out of your second transformation if the game goes late. In a typical game, you get your first element at around 10 minutes, and your second at about 20 minutes.
