Telling people to KYS is the fastest way to get punished

I would have thought this would be obvious to anyone with a lick of common sense but evidently it has to be said. In recent memory I've had now 3 people who think this sort of behavior is okay and all three of them received punishments due to my reports and I got the nice little popup informing me of it within 20 minutes of reporting them.

That sort of verbal harassment is a one-way ticket to punishment escalation along with homophobic, sexist, or racist language, or in the case of the last guy I reported many of the above at once.

I'm proud of Riot's stated strong stance against this disgusting behavior, and I hope you are too fellow summoners. So don't think for a second your reports aren't valuable because every person that presses that little button next to a toxic player's name tells Riot "We agree that this behavior is unacceptable" and the system gets better and better at removing them from our player-base should they refuse to reform.

Thank you for taking the time to read this little rant.

its the mentality of some people. They havent been taught that there are actual people on the internet, but not only that because it is the internet they believe they can get away with it. And to an extent they do. There is really nothing they can do to stop it, aside from banning the person, but then what happens? They make a new account and continue to do the same thing. Hopefully with that though it teaches them, but for most they will either keep making accounts (and hopefully they get ban faster) or just stop completely!

I'm seriously thinking of quiting this game because of how toxic the community is...Just because I miss a jhin ult and my support tells me to go kill myself cause I'm a scrub, and they continue to play more games....that is unfair. Yet my friend can try and help others by saying "buy a pink ward for shaco" or "lets defend base" teammates tell him to "F**k off" and he gets chat restricted for back talking...I really don't know why everyone thinks just because they are behind a monitor they can say all this abusive language and get away with it, I HIGHLY doubt they could get away with that in a public place let alone in the workplace.

Having had to deal with several family members w/ terminal cancer, as well as a friend's suicide in my teens, I don't particularly care when I am called cancerous or someone tells me to go KYS. It doesn't make me weepy and I don't quit out of game for an intervention with my four therapists and wet nurse. Dealing with tragedy makes you less sensitive to the bullshit, not more so. Being called cancer is nothing compared to years of intensive care units, watching the chemical and radiation therapies steadily whittle away their body, losing >100 lbs, and their mind, causing slowness and dementia in what was once a fierce, rapid fire intellect as both the treatment and the sickness lead them in a slow, steady march towards death. You think some words in a video game are going to hold a candle to that? Get real.

KYS is sensitive because people are scared of the tilted emo kid who might actually go off and try to do it, and Riot doesn't want the liability/press. Compared to everything at least this has some sort of rationale behind it.

its totally bs. kys is like saying stop harrasing me you jerk im done with you and u are muted, kys is literally a trap putting power into the hand of people who like to provoke other and then report them with their flex preamdes to get them bannend, riot should of atleast gave out and update about no go words or let people know kys is only a nono word if u get reported for it

I think context means everything. If someone just made a stupid joke or pun and you respond with: "..." "kill yourself" That has a different tone than, "why the fuck are you playing this game" "just kill yourself"
