Post-Retcon Frequently Asked Lore Questions

I just wanted to make a thread to highlight the most faq (mostly mine, to be honest) about the "new lore" in hopes of answers, if I'm missing something please add it in the comments, hoping for a red to check this out.

How did she die? Was she killed? Who betrayed her and how? How did she become a specter of vengeance? why her in particular?

Why did she seek power/treasure? How did she find out about the tomb of the emperor? What did she have in mind? Why did she go on a dangerous expedition by herself? Why would she- an aristocrat- put herself in that much danger? How is her transformation a curse and not an ascension since she became a half animal demi-goddess with magical powers?

Just what the hell did she do after finding out about her mysterious heritage?

What was the cause of his death? How was he cursed? for the love of god is he a yordle or a boy?

What/Who is he protecting?

He discovered a gauntlet that amplified is magical powers, why on earth is he embarrassed of that?

WHAT THE HECK IS EVELYNN?!?!?!?!?!?! Why is she an expensive assassin? why would she want wealth?

With the lore retcon confusing everything, are they in war or not? Does Ashe know Lissandra's real identity as the ice witch?
