And we still don't have lore that states why the champions are fighting each other. The lore is all over the place in such a way that I don't think it would ever be possible:

  1. The Demacian Conflict AKA Saradomin VS Zamerok VS Guthix - Garen JarvanIV Poppy Shyvana Galio Quinn Lux XinZhao ?&? Irelia Akali Kennen Karma MasterYi Shen Sona Soraka VS Cassiopeia Draven Darius Katarina Leblanc Sion Swain

I've purposefully left out some champions because of their ambigious and unanswered nature. But seriously, I TOTALLY can relate to this. Like, greed, war, okay - I totally get that. You know, except for the fact that Demacia has a walking Sky-scraper for a defender - there is no fucking way Noxus is getting passed that, but I get it. You can really relate to this because it's basically good VS bad and then the in-between. Which is basically just another good, as it looks that way with the line up of champions.

But what about everybody else? Not even half the champions - not even a quarter of the champions on the roster have a reasoning to even meet one another. Like, at all. Sivir is jerking it off for gold somewhere, Azir this guy just decides to build an empire in a day because "I want to Lol." Vladimir Is kind of busy making sunny side down eggs and Gnar just appears in conflict because he decided to un-thaw next to a battle or something.

So what's the deal, why not actually set up a lore? It was just SOOOOOO much more interesting when the Arena was basically a place for war and to avoid colossal devastation. The way that Riot is making champions now are just becoming just so impossibly out of hand that lore is becoming increasingly more and more impossible. Why not bring back the institution of war and like . . . degrade some of the champions? So that, you know, they aren't as powerful as matter itself.

Well there was a reason, but they removed said reason in 2014. The gameplay ain't canon to the game's lore.

Yeah, but back then the gameplay was canon to the games lore. Right now nothing means anything. Most games aren't like this. Although the gameplay is fun and all - the lore and what not is below even alpha standards.

And what did it matter before? There was only one game where the outcome ever mattered and that was the one about the ionia conflict. Everything else did not matter.

And they could do stuff like this with events like the current VS-thing if they wanted to(they don't have to of course)

Trying to justify a game like this will always come off as a bit silly or would limit the possibilities for champions. I mean why would Garen ever team up with Darius and Swain to ambush Jarvan, murder him and then dance on his corpse? Or how could Syndra believe to be so powerful if she is essentially the action figure of the summoners?

Also you say that the conflict between Demacia,Noxus and Ionia(though there isn't really much between demacia and ionia as they sit on the opposites of the continent) is just good and good vs bad, despite the fact that this was the case in the old lore(come on "noxians killed my family member" was pretty much the standard lore) and these nations were a lot more greyed out in the new one(demacia now shunning mages,Ionia using Jhin as a hitman and Noxus being more accepting to outsiders and having actually a valid reason to attack other nations)

Sona is Demacian, no longer Ionian
