Who even tries getting the loot exclusive skins anymore?

With the tease of the new Dreadnova Darius, I got pretty excited. The whole skin just reminded me of something out of Warhammer 40k, literally with the jump pack, face mask, and chain axe. Darius is essentially a chaos space marine in this skin and I love it since that's the faction I play........and then I read it was going to be loot exclusive.

Really?!?! You had to make this skin a fucking loot exclusive, where the only way to earn them is to get gems from your chest & key system with extreme rare chances of getting them let alone trying to get 10?

Why is this system still a thing? Seriously, what is the fucking drop rate of gems, or even better the possible shards to get these skins? Who even tries to actively tries to get these skins anymore? I just continue to find very little point in these exclusives if the drop rates for the items in order to get them is sooooo fucking small and rare. You can basically look up on Youtube for any League player opening these things to get gems and see that they spend hundreds of $ just to try and get one (4 if they're lucky enough). I've only gotten 6 total and have them right now so I'm kinda ahead in order to get this skin, but now say if I do get this skin what if I want to get Soulstealer Vayne now? I'd have to go through the same process all over again in order!

But hey, why should anything I'm saying right now matter? Tons of idiots out there will continue to buy this crap to get a chance of getting it, and Riot will just go on ahead and do this because "oh they're a company. they have to make money. blah blah blah". No shit. But honestly I don't care. I don't want to have to feel like I'm getting robbed through a RNG system for a rare chance of getting 1 out of the 10 gems needed in order to get a skin that could easily sell for 1350 or 975 or whatever the exclusive skins prices should be.

You do know that Tencent, a chineese company owns 80% of riot, and it's 80% their choice what the budget goes on? They decided that a gambling machine with gemstones is a good idea, because it attracts kids.

I got Hextech Annie out of a crate, which is nice since I used to play her a lot prior to Champ Mastery, and now I play her again lol.

Yey! Good for you! You got lucky with the system!

But that's not what I'm trying to say here. I'm trying to say how stupid this system Riot is implementing for exclusive skins when the chances of getting either the shards or gems are extremely rare/low for anyone who isn't as lucky or patient.

I like the idea of exclusive rare skins. Ya I might not have them all but the one I do have is rare so I get to feel special.

If you had one then you would more then likely feel the same way.

I can agree about what you're saying. If I do eventually get the Darius skin, I'd more than likely use it all the time since it is a rare skin. But I'm also the person who likes collecting awesome skins for champions that I really like to play.

So if say I started playing Vayne and really liked her or my all time main Shyvana got an exclusive skin, it'd take me forever to try and get the damn gemstones, not to mention the hundreds of dollars it may take.

Shit if Ahri or Syndra got a hextech skin i'd drop 100s of dollars for it lol. But I'd assume we have to wait for a Jungler and Support to get their skins before it comes back around to Mid, so 3 years, by then if I'm still playing I should have enough gemstones lol.

I'm hoping this years Victorious skin is a mid laner,

J4 - JG Janna - Supp Elise - JG Morg - Supp Sivir - ADC Mao - Top

You can argue Morg is a mid or J4 a top but for the years they got it (well Morg at least) was for Supp and JG (I think on J4).

So I'm totally hoping we get a Victorious skin finally mid.

I'd love Hextech Annie, but I've only ever gotten one gemstone.

I don't trust my luck enough to spend money/RP on hextech stuff in the shop. :( I know I would probably have to spend hundreds to get the nine gemstones I'm missing and that's quite a lot of money for a skin I probably won't even use all that often.

That being said, while it feels bad to have an awesome skin locked away through an RNG system, it must also be awesome owning said skin due to how exclusive it is. I know if I owned Hextech Annie I'd feel much cooler than if I just bought an ultimate skin. There's merit to having those special kinds of items in League, and hextech is the medium for it.

Personnaly I just gave up on collecting gemstone, Im turning them into a chest and a key instead. I have already a cool skin on all the champ with a loot exclusive skin so I don,t see any need to spend hundreds of dollars to try to get a skin, Id rather buy the 4 ultimate skins instead of trying to get 10 gemstone.
