Initial Thoughts on New Champ Art, Kai'sa

Plz keep in mind that this is my opinion and that if you don't like it because it clashes with yours, don't downvote it because of that.

With that said...I honestly am a bit disappointed with her appearance. Not the initial design with the Void wings and the void guns(?), it's everything else about her. She just looks like so many generic, attractive video game woman. I mean for crying out loud, her passive is literally telling us she's wearing a suit, than being a part of her. It's just a bit disappointing

I mean this is supposedly Kassadin's daughter, someone whose been in the Void for so many years. Yet she looks perfectly normal for the most part. I was almost imagining a Kerrigan from Starcraft look to her, make her more hybrid between human and the Void. Riot really could of gone somewhere with this base design.

Now I do like the other skin being kind of this mini-mech suit pilot of sorts or even just standard space combat suit. I like that concept. But with everything else about her base skin, I'm just a bit sad.

Idk, those are just my thoughts, but what are yours?

Yeah I also hoped that she'd look a bit more deformed. I mean the void symbiont is likely their justification for her not mutating that much,but it still feels like a missed opportunity,where they made her sexy for the sake of sexy.

I was thinking the same thing. Whenever I thought of "someone lost to the Void", particularly Kass's daughter, I always thought of just this ruined person, human-looking but clearly not right and uncanny. With a twisted VO to match, maybe at times sounding cute and innocent, but then the cute and innocent delivery would say something disturbing. Visually, something like the girl from the Ring or some other horror movie where the creature isn't that bad until you get a good look at it and it's really creepy. And I know that designs can't always live up to my own expectations, but this design feels really safe and uninspired, especially when you look at Riot's recent track record of female Champions (Illaoi, Zoe, Camille, Taliyah and even Xayah to some extent are really memorable and unique).

She also has the problem of looking a tad generic. Like you, I think the defining features of her design are cool, like the shoulder pads with eyes and stuff. But her face and body look like I've already met this Champion on the Rift a billion times. She's really generic.

Overall, not horrible, but feels like a wasted opportunity to me. This is not what I think when I think of the theme "girl/woman lost in the Void and returning".

I’d surmise it’s due to the way she bonded with the void and her own mindset. From the scant information on her reveal it seems that the void forged her into an incredibly fearsome predator. She remains untouched in a way neither Kassadin or Malzahar could understand. While Malzahar accepte whatever the void tells him, and Kassadin regards his void influence as a curse, she made it into a weapon.

This comparison goes further. Malzahar’s corruption is in the form of a third eye, something that Malzahar would consider a sign of enlightenment or heightened-awareness. Kassadin on the other hand is slowly dying, he can’t breathe normal air, and his skin is fucking blue.

Opinion base indeed, but we kinda don't need to start that argument already so early just because she looks attractive...

The page tells us that she survived because of her suit. She's probably more like Samus.

I personally really like her design, especially since I can even see a bit of similarity between her and pre-void Kass, I feel like the idea of a symbiotic skin is awesome, though that might be biased since I do like characters in pop-culture like that, e.i. Blue Beetle and Venom, and she even has the some tribal tattoos in her in-game model, though her gameplay doesn't suit me, I am actually interested in testing her out
