I picked up the scythe and could feel it's power! Then all of the sudden a giant bear man came out of nowhere and began to beat the shit outta me for no reason whatsoever. WHAT DOES IT MEAN

why stop at new champs?
Wukong was always different from the rest of his tribe. At an early age, Wukong got his ass kicked by a giant bear god. It was then he realized he would like to spend the rest of his life fighting, so he could one day kick the ass of the bear god who kicked his all those years ago.
Twisted Fate always wanted magic powers. Through a deal with a mad scientist, he was given the chance to get those powers by having a giant magic bear god punch him in the face, transferring some of his power to him. the process took a few more punches then he would have hoped, but eventually he got those magic powers he wanted.
Teemo got his the shit beaten out of him by Volibear for ages. Eventually he gained two abilities through the constant beatings. the ability to see a threat from miles away and the ability to turn invisible just by standing still. Bandle City saw how these abilities could prove useful and put him in charge as the Scout for Bandle City, keeping an eye out for any danger that could come their way.

: "Oh this random ass bear just came out of fucking no where and smacked me across the face, took out both my eyes. Thankfully it had lightning claws for some reason so it numbed the what would probably have been excruciating pain."
Really though, it's impossible considering how long ago Liss went blind, but it would be hilarious if it was somehow like an ancestor or something to Voli and that's where he gets his new champion smacking desires from.
