@Riot - Full Visual work on Half Complete Champs

What would be chances of your team going back through and doing justifiable model and animation on the champs you half updated, but still use their ancient models and lack all the animations you'd expect from new VGUs? I'm talking about champions like Sona, Miss Fortune, Alistar, Shen, and others who you have updated their kits over the years, and even given some prettier aesthetics, but are just incomplete in terms of visual feel. I hope you guys don't feel like these champions are done, there's still a lot of work to be done on them visually.

How about we update the champs with zero updating first instead of fiddling with the ones that Riot has already updated two or three times? Corki and Kennen still look like ass. Jax is a walking eggplant. Mord has pizza feet and Kog has giant chicken feet.

How about Riot fix the champions they half completed instead of letting them get worse before moving on to larger projects? How would you feel if they JUST gave Jax a new texture on top of his clunky model, and left his old voice lines to the summoner? They need to complete these champions they've done partial work on and get them up to par, or else they'll still have shitty models and lack animation down the road.

I would feel 'Oh hey, cool, Jax doesn't look like an eggplant anymore! At least now he isn't burning my eyes until Riot does a VGU for him.'

Yes, but the half completeness is currently accepted by Riot as a job well done on their part so that they could move on to other champs - these champions were all passed over for work for a long time, despite the fact that Alistar has pretty much had like 70% of a VGU in parts. They could have easily done Ryze level updates on these champions, since they required little work to have passable kits, so it upsets me that they are considered acceptable with new textures and old everything else.

Oh, I think Shen is already back on the VGU list. I like your idea, but he's not the best example. I think his gameplay fell short enough that he should be given a serious overhaul again. I realize it won't likely be soon, but I think most people agree that his rework, just from a gameplay standpoint, is pretty lackluster.

I think his gameplay and visuals are lackluster. He got miniscule new animations where he uses one hand for his sword, but otherwise, they just stretched a new fabric on an ugly old chair. His model, like the other who they done minor visual work to, just feel clumsy and dated when you compare it to legit reworks like Poppy, Taric, or Sion. These champions with just the updated texture work need to have an actual full blown visual update that includes the model and new animations in order for them to feel complete and not swept under the rug.

Hit kit, not his model and rigging. Alistar still uses his base model rigging from when he was introduced in the game like 7 years ago. He got improved textures and was made to look better on the outside, but he still retains clunky animation, a lack of modern animations like recalls and homeguard, and he still uses his antiquated voice over. He is half-updated at the best, and not comparable to fully updated champs.

The small kit changes are given to champions simply because of opportunity, this is alistar's case. He will obviously get a VGU later on as he needs new animations Vo etc. Riot saw an opportuntiy for better gameplay and updated him. However they are dozens more in need of it more than him. Urgot, Galio evelynn are a few. Just giving champs like alistar a new model and animations now, is a waste of time and money when they can leave him for later and update his model, animations, gameplay and VO in one go. Y'all should be glad he even got touched, lol. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve these changes but... everyone has their turn and some champions have to wait longer than others.

The point is that Alistar was tinkered with and half worked on instead of a full VGU. Because they chose to do minor work instead of a full VGU, he is getting pushed back to a later date, like Shen, and their needed VGUs are going to be overlooked because they got a bandaid to cover up the ugly. Sona is another example. She got essentially a fairly large kit overhaul, yet they left her with her antiquated rigging, animations, and model. Since she's "ok and got worked on," she'll now be passed over for VGU work when she desperately needs to be brought visually into the modern era (especially since her kit is now up to modern standards to a large degree). These champions deserved VGU work as much as other champions, yet they half-assed the work on them and called it a day. I'm saying they need to finish what they started, since they've already gone more than halfway there on most of these champs, and then move on to other champions. Sona and Alistar are going to feel clunky and inadequate no matter how you spin it as long as they remain in their same state.

What they started was finished. They never intended to go all the way with Alistar. I can understand Shen, but the kit overhaul that Alistar and Sona got were never intended to be met with new animation or anything extra of the sort. You make it sound as though they were intended for a Taric/Ryze level rework, they are in need of one yes! But the work done on them was never meant to meet that standard.

I don't think they're "incomplete" just because they didn't get a new voice or a completely new model design. There's a level of readability and functionality that the animations and design a model needs to meet. Shen, Alistar, ect. don't necessary fail to meet those requirements. Annoying purple ninja, big angry cow man, floaty song girl, pin-up model with guns, we know what they are.

The dame devs don't want to try and cram in an entire VGU down the pipeline just to tweak or staple on some skills. The VGUs are generally reserved for hot messes of champ design.

Shen needs a recall, VO (hopefully same actor, I doubt heavily Riot could find one that fits better), and a skin maybe.

Course he could use gameplay changes, but I'm ignoring that here.

How about making a VO Update too? It kinda feels weird to play Kassadin Fiora Singed Maokai MissFortune who got pretty much a Visual update, but no new VOs. .__.

They didn't get true visual updates. They got new exteriors, but their animations and rigging are the same thing they launched with. I'd rather they do a full pass on all champs they did this to, including new VOs.

Darn it you're right!

Still I'm sick of the "silenced my mother once" quote on Kassadin. And Fiora got all her stuff completely new, but her Emotes and Voiceover. That's so sad :/
