After reading Jinx's story of "The Wedding Crasher", something hit me ....

  • Hexlumens fitted with rotating zoetropes and oddly-angled lenses projected spectral dancers onto the floor that pirouetted and spun to the delight of laughing children who’d never known a moment of hunger, pain, or loss.

  • Windows paned with colored glass patterned the mosaic floor with rainbows and Jinx skipped merrily over every bright square as she made her way to a table heaped with enough food to feed a hundred families in Zaun for a month.

Even though it's not clear whether Jinx cares or not about other people in Zaun, she seems aware of the differences between Piltover and Zaun when it comes to the economy of things. While she's having fun blowing up things and enjoying chaos, there might be another motive as to why she chooses to jack up Piltover. If you remember in her bio, Jinx wasn't always crazy. Perhaps how Zaun was left to rot and Piltover never tried to help.

  • Some even whisper that Jinx isn’t even human, that she is some kind of avenging spirit of mayhem, come to wreak havoc upon Piltover in revenge for the thousands who died when Zaun sank into the earth.

It kind of holds a Robin Hood vibe to it, only ... if Robin Hood shot up the place and blew everything up for funsies. She never kills people (least a very few if hardly die from her chaotic crime sprees) but I see hints about Jinx having a grudge against Piltover, why else would she go there to do all this mayhem when Zaun seems far more exciting. Hell she hates how dead & boring the people are in Piltover and isn't impressed with anything that Piltover has. She's also obsessed with Vi and didn't steal any of the gold in the vault. She's clearly trying to send a message, and I think it's "Until you guys cough up a lending hand to Zaun, i'm going to make you guys pay for it financially." Probably not, but why else wouldn't she of stolen the coin? Maybe she wants Piltover to help Zaun get back on it's feet, but the higher ups here don't care about those suffering in Zaun and instead blow so much money for a simple birthday party (hence why I showed those two specific quotes at the start). Jinx is bringing forth justice in the most insane way imaginable, and she loves every moment of it.

Her whole lore seemed to be geared towards how she was a pretty smart Zaunite like Ekko but because of her conditions her dreams were shattered and now she has an angst towards Pilties who live in wealth and turn a blind eye to the suffering of Zaunites. Good observation about why she would leave the gold.. A little more intricate than what I first thought which was it was just to add insult to injury to Vi or that she had no care for gold.

My theory with Vi is that she despises VI because she sold out.She too was a Zaunite with a difficult past caused by Piltovians but she joined them and even had the audacity to become a police enforcer who enjoys beating up Zaun criminals.

I don't think she has a Robin Hood complex of trying to help the Zaunites. Jinx wants to have fun, and her chaotic idea of fun is going to be a lot more disruptive to the ordered society of Piltover than in the constant mayhem Zaun already experiences.

As for why she left all that money behind... what's Jinx going to do with money? Buy something,? When you could just steal it? If she was trying to help the poor people of Zaun, she'd be stealing money for re-distribution, not leaving it behind. And as Skelenth points out, her actions aren't actually helping Zaun, even indirectly.

That being said, a lot of Zaunites consider her to people a hero for her crimes. But ultimately I don't think her motivations are anything heroic.

But she is causing trouble for Zaun aswell, because they rely on Piltover.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't say anywhere that she doesn't kill anyone. I doubt she care's if people die, though I also doubt she intentionally kills anyone. She just causes panic through blowing things up and if people get hurt in the process (which it's bound to at some point), why should it ruin her fun?
