"I fought a house once! Pretty sure I won!" - Galio. Wait a minute...

First of all, this implies that it was a magical house. Galio only wakes up when there is magic around, so that element has to be involved. And at the same time that house must have had some weird properties and not just have some mages inside throwing fireballs at Galio. Just crashing into a house doesn't really count as fighting, that's just accidental property damage.

But the more I dig in my brain the concept of a "magical house that is able to move (and therefore to fight theoretically)" DOES ring a bell.

Is anyone here familiar with the fairy tales about the witch Baba Yaga? Comes from East-European and Russian folklore I think, an old woman with mysterious magical power that lives in a house that is able to walk around on gigantic bird-feet. In some stories it is implied that the house has a will of its own, but is always loyal to its master (if you steal something she will know for example).

So there is a Baba Yaga like character in this world - and possibly even still alive, considering that Galio is not EXACTLY certain if he won. The enemy retreated at some point and left him alone, so technically that's a win, but then again he didn't get to squash his foe. (Mages make that funny sound when you do that! No fight is complete without it!).

For years I've been waiting for an old woman character in this game, especially since the herbalist/traditional witch trope is completly unused yet when you look at the cast.

Syndra's lore has her living in a castle she levitates with her INCREDIBLE power, maybe she dropped by one time :P

Syndra carries her house with her.

I just assumed this referred to the house he smashed with his tail in his splash art, but this is more fun

Lissandra Am I not old enough for you?

Your entire theory is predicated on the idea that the house was magical. Galio's only awoken by magic but we can probably assume he does general combat around eliminating that threat... assuming it even is a threat (Lux wakes him up and she's an ally).

Also I honestly don't think Riot would ever put anything resembling Baba Yaga in the game. You're right that they absolutely do need a terrifying hag champion but that's absolutely not what the line was meant to refer to. It's just supposed to be silly and stupid because new Galio is a meathead jock for some reason. xP

Baba Yaga is some freaky S#!T.

Think more along the lines of terrifying hag than "old magic woman".

Sounds like Howl's Moving Castle (Miyazaki film from Studio Ghibli - Howl is the mage of the house and Calcifer is the demon that keeps the house ('Castle') moving).

Not necessarily. There could have just been a source of magic near by and Galio got side tracked. It happened in his short story with the beast he fought. He started to run away from the battle but then remembered what he was supposed to do.

He may have just thought it was an enemy. Galios not exactly bright.

Could've fought a house from Hogwarts. Yknow, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. :P

Damn, I didn't know that gigantic bird-feet houses are such a romantic experience.

My firs thought was mega-Gnar having thrown one of his houses at galio and galio surviving it while the house disappeared.
