Heartseeker Lucian's Splash - His face...

So this is Lucian's splash for his new skin. His face looks absolutely terrible. I'm not sure if the intent was to make him look like he was trying to be intimidating or "sexy," but it comes across as an Internet meme instead of whatever the original intent was. The eyes look awkward, small, and you can barely see his irises. His lips also look awkward and strange, and the emphasis seems to be on his larger lower lip, where his other splashes seem to show that his upper lip is the larger one. The smile(?) he has looks creepy, and would even give Thresh the willies. So please, send this back to the drawing board and work on it. It's current iteration is just awful.

Small question: What is that thing on the side that catches his gun? It has huge arms,a face on its torso and wears a huge hat,but doesn't seem to have a real head(and no visible lower body,but that could be because it is cut off from the picture)

Wow, that was fast! Kudos to the Riot artists for taking community feedback so seriously and quickly! The change in lighting is good, the hair change is good, the suit design looks better, the gleams are much more subtle (they're too attention-grabbing in the original), and that face is so much less scary.

It sure was fast :D and they cleaned it up nicely. Definitely makes the skin look a lot more attractive, when I first saw the splash I just had to look away cause that look on his face was just so bad. This updated one looks more like the icon that is also coming out, which is great.

I hadn't really even noticed the lighting, suit and other smaller changes they made but now that you mentioned them they are a lot better too.

I think the face is a good representation of African-American traits. He also has a nice smirk like "yoo girl im coming for that booty" Lucian which is good for a "fun skin" like heartseeker instead of the usual dead-serious face lucian has in all his skins.

He may have those traits, but other Lucian skin splashes have strong African features and don't look like this. Lucian's face in his other splashes emphasizes his upper lip's size, and it doesn't look like he has a horrible underbite like he does in this one. His eyes are also spread out really weirdly here, unlike his facial structure in his other skins. In Lucian's other skins, he does have a larger nose; this one has that, but unlike the other skins, the bridge is massive and wide, and it spreads his eyes apart, which is not visible in his classic splash.

As for the aesthetic of the face, his expression is just a mess. His eyebrows are doing some crazy shit, and it conflicts anatomically with how his face is operating. His eyes are weird and squinted, almost closed, and arching your eyebrow like he's doing makes it almost impossible and really strange looking to squint. His mouth is just horrendous, in this redneck smile that can only be achieved by shoving your jaw out and causing an underbite, and again, looks awkward if you actually try to achieve this look with a human face. This is just a mess, just like Man-Face Miss Fortune was in her original iteration of her Pool Party skin. This just is not Lucian's face, and if it is, this expression is not natural.

The Icon looks light skinned and the actual skin looks really dark skinned. I'm so confused... That's like making someone blonde and giving them a icon that shows them as a brunette.

While I agree with you about the general weird appearance, I don't think all his skins need to have African features. I think it would actually be more interesting for skins to be allowed to completely change the champion's appearance, including race. They've made champions into robots in some skins, so I don't see the issue with putting them in difference racial groups (aside from perhaps not being PC).

It'd be interesting to see some champions change race. I mean, the important thing was the champion's silhouette and to make sure the champion looks identifiably like that champion, right? They don't need a single race to convey that.

And i'm totally not saying this just because I want to see a black Blackbeard type of skin for Gangplank. Totally not at all.

His face is scrunched up like he is pissed off, but the eyebrows and smile would make you think he is being flirtatious.

The eyes also seem odd to me. Unless I am mistaken here, Lucian doesn't have Ice-blue eyes.

I am not going to lie, in his current state, he looks a bit rapist-y to me. The thing is, the artists came so close to making this dude look incredibly handsome and alluring, but they did something just wrong enough that it came out creepy. It is mostly in the eyes, but the lip seems a bit off to me as many people have pointed out.

(In my opinion) They just need to change the top of his face honestly. If you cover up the bottom of his nose to his chin, he looks like he's about to club a baby seal. Unfurrow the brow a bit so he doesn't look like he's contemplating gouging your eyes out. That being said, if they wanted to add detail to him that they haven't been able to before, that's fine, just keep it, you know, not menacing for a Heartseeker skin.
