I really like the lore of League, especially Zeds past, it's very mysterious.

...

But will Riot actually ever finish it?

What Lore?

No seriously, what Lore?

What we're getting is Stories disguised as Lore. Lore is a set fact within a setting that creates a baseline and foundation for stories to emerge. Riot however, outputs Champion focused stories with only minimal application of Lore. The biggest one in recent history was the Xerath-Azir Stories, because they actually painted a world (and then lack thereof) beyond the focused champions.

The Harrowing affecting Bilgewater sort of works as well, but it also contradicts previous Lore (before the Retcon, BW was the farthest place on the map from the Shadow Isles yet the Harrowing specifically states that's where the mist comes from).

They've had a Very Long time to work on this fiasco, but I'm afraid we're stuck with Super Smash Legends forever. Riot's business practices allow only that.

They initially need to rework the lore of almost 90 champions, then they have to remove any existence of the League from any lore they want to keep, then make the lore all presentable for people who are too lazy to follow it up on the forums, during all that Visually and lore-wize updating many of the nations. Not to mention adding new champions to the game while doing all that.

You see, its a big job they have to do, be patient, and you will be please.

Probably not. They are retconning now, leaving many things unresolved. There is nothing to stop them retconning it all again in five years, for the previous retcon was a great success...

Already they changed Trundle, Xerath and arguably more champions in addition to removing the IoW. Riot does not seem to fear a retcon.

Even in the old lore they never finished any of the mysteries. I really wish they could start delving into them like a comic book.

Think of it like this.

Every champion just has a story.

Ex. Kassadin is a man who went into the void and came back

Yasuo is an exile who was framed for killing his master but didn't

Xerath Powerful guy

From what it seems, there is going to be absolutely no back story on WHY Kassadin and Xerath is here, WHO is Yasuo's enemy.

None of that matters anymore.

Basically, ''League'' of legends is a person in Runeterra dreaming of all of these champions getting together and fighting. Which explains why they frequently die, and why Lucian and Thresh can be on the same team. All just someone's dream!

To sum it up, Riot pulled down their multi billion $ pants and sat their massive ass on the toilet (Lore) and took a gigantic steaming shit on top of it. They flushed, but the toilet is clogged.

Riot's parents (The community) told Riot not to use the toilet, but Riot didn't give a fuck anyways.

So after the parents (community) found out the toilet is clogged with nothing but infectious shit, the parents got mad at Riot. Riot claimed that he was going to fix it all, but he really didn't give a shit anyways (Pun intended)

So, lore is still steaming pile of shit. The end.
