What lies ahead?

As i'm sure were all aware that Kindred is the representation of death. In other words they don't cause death but dictate how you die and when, without causing death them selves. A confusing thing to rap any ones mind around. But while many ask of their origins or their interactions with those of a higher power I ask a different question.

What happens to the souls?

Surely there is some were they must go. I mean Kindred's whole purpose is to guide your fate and then your soul, surely this must be an important job. So then why guide them in the first place? Where is this place that souls must go to? Why is this place important?

Something else that also makes me scratch my heads is what do the common people of Runeterra see after death? Do they believe in Hell and Heaven like we do? Or something else? Perhaps they may say souls that are evil end up in the Shadow Isles but as we know many of those are actually taken by the Black Mist, by force. Which is why Kindred is not a big fan of them, they mess with the souls that must arrive to this mystical place.

As well if you chose Lamb's bow or Wolf's fangs, does that change were you go? That is to say does choosing one or the other change ones destination or do they all go to same? Would choosing Wolf's fang send you to a place filled with misery and choosing Lamb's bow send you to a place of tranquility?

Perhaps I'm asking questions that can't be answered. But still these are the things I wonder about when Kindred is mentioned in any lore.

um from the subtext in their lore it looks like that is the final frontier wolf like just eats the soul, it's fair to say lamb bow is similar. but kayle and Morgana need lore reworks so maybe there something in there

  • Kindred: I imagine souls are intended to pass into nothingness and that there is not suppose to be a fictional afterlife.

  • Thresh: "What is the worth of a soul?"

  • Lamb & Wolf: How they choose their targets may be in parallel with natural events. Their story suggests this may be true. They are myths. Invisible.

  • Lamb: Accept fate. Die.

  • Wolf: Defy fate. Chase!

  • the Undying: The curse may be a magical disease that locks souls into stagnation. (Three are not cursed and are products of other magic)

  • the Ascendants: The Ascendants can be compared to the Undying. Their souls Ascend.

  • Undying & Ascendants may be deviants of fate. Chase!

  • Ascendants are special and could even be pardoned with disdain.

  • the Others: (other deviants)

  • Zilean: How does Kindred hunt him? He warps through the space-time continuum.

  • Ekko: How does Kindred decide? His fate is throttled. Wolf cleans up his trail.

  • Lissandra (Iceborn): Who cares?

From the Kindred's voiceover i get the feeling that the Eternal Hunters don't even think about what happens after you die. They are death, they dispense it and that's all. They don't care what lies beyond the Last Threshold, and they probably don't even know themselves. From my point of view, death is one thing, the afterlife is something else entirely. Kindred are just there to maintain the natural balance, all living things must die sooner or later, what happens next is not of their concern.
