Tbh that was to be expected. During the roster-update they surely worked with countless different ability-kit-prototypes, and one of them turned out to be nice, but "unfitting" for the current assassins in terms of thematics. I will make a wild guess and say that she had her design origin from a scrapped Katarina-rework-kit. (Lot's of dashing around, melee slashing, etc).

Wasn't Aurelion Sol also released shortly after the Mage Update? Then that would have been the same case.

Considering the design cycle for an average champion (8 months), and that they only started working on assassins after the mages were done in midseason, it seems extremely unlikely to me that she was born from the roster update. That's not to say that the work that team was doing didn't influence her though, it almost definitely did, considering how much general work they were doing for the very concept of assassin.

They do tend to time roster updates with new champions though.

Illaoi during the juggernaut update, Jhin during the marksman update I think, Asol during the mage update, and now assassin champ during the assassin update

Her design is too clean to be completely robotic. We have an example of that in League with Orianna and Blitzcrank, and while both are fairly advanced each are distinctly robotic. Camille is, on the surface, very human with only her legs from the waist down being clearly mechanical.

If she is a machine and not an augmented human, her design is very jarring when compared to previous examples.

In my opinion, short of Viktor himself, Camille is the most augmented champion in League to date. Even her head seems modified in some capacity since her eyes are clearly artificial and there are seams on her face. Are they scars from the operation?

This is a pretty fair analysis. I dare say she's mostly human save for her legs. She also seems to have a bit of non-embedded tech (eye contacts and the gem-looking thing in the middle of her back).

It'll be interesting to see where they go with Camille. She seems like a really cold person and someone the likes of Caitlyn and Vi wouldn't particularly get along with. Hell, in one image she looks like freakin' Unmasked Lissandra.

Something totally unrelated to Camille, but a feedback never or less.

I love the comic, I love the style, the only downside is that my eyes are crappy (imagine thick glasses dude, that's me), and I can't zoom into the text.

The border of the webpage zooms, but the images don't and it hurts my eyes trying to read something so small.

Is it possible to tell the publishing team in the future to increase the font size? or to make it so that the images can be zoomed in so I can read and look at every detail?

Or maybe it was just Chrome doing a disservice to me.

The question is tho: what if it turns out that the zaunite's intentions were pure in this case? Then she literally just murdered someone "because he's from the bad part of the city and I don't want that in my town". I am not sure, but wouldn't that almost fall into some category of social racism (for the lack of a better phrase)? "Filthy undercity dwellers only harm the system, keep them down! AT ALL COSTS!"

Of course she could have been right and he was an asshole who did it only for power and influence, but now we will never now...

I wonder if she is acting on her own or if she has backing from high circles of Piltover society, as that would explain her numerous tech-upgrades. Given all her mods she must be quite a look for a certain zaunite scientist who is all about technological body modification...

But yeah it's widens up the spectrum a little. Usually it was like the Pilties were the goody-two-shoes, and Zaun was the crazy-freaks with Ekko being as "good" as it could possibly get. Can't wait until we finally get the first "not-crazy-and-actually-really-nice" Zaun Champion ^^

I can only speculate currently.

She seems adamant about her duty of preserving the balance. I'm guessing she's a highly disciplined special secret soldier of Piltover. Some from up the top employs her to keep the order. And I have a feeling she's a bit brainwashed, similar to how Garen yells "For Demacia!" Either that, or she has some kind of personal vendetta against the Zaunites. But I think this is less likely since that would remind me of Vayne's story.

As for the augments? No idea. I bet all of my money she didn't get them from Viktor.

Viktor was a student who learned about prosthetics at the university. He just happens to be making the best ones. Zaun was already acquainted with prosthetics when he started learning about them. I am just worried as to what the hell is he doing now, if everyone's already augmented? To whom is he advertising his Evolution?

Her artificial legs look sleek. Piltovian design.

I think Viktor is promoting full augmentation: instead of just an arm or the legs, he replaces EVERYTHING exept for that fist-sized lump of grey cells in your brain, and even those will be replaced once he got the tech for it.

Or maybe the glorious Evolution is a thing in the past now and Zaun has partially embraced it already? I mean, when you already lost your arm in a disgusting accident, you might as well replace it with an awesome magic cannon. But even those people wouldn't go as far as he would I guess.

Jokes aside, I think that's the case - Viktor wants to transition into a complete machine. He doesn't view technology as just a tool that can make you stronger, faster, etc. He sees it as a better medium for existence. And.. I agree with that.

That would be a very drastic step forward in the story. It is definitely a possibility, that he succeeded in convincing people that augmentation is not horrible. But everyone's getting augmented at different places, hue. I want his story to progress (and to his benefit); (I see your icon) But seeing how the new lore is turning out, I'm afraid of his story moving forward.

I just had an idea: Her legs could fit inside the blades. Oh wait, her eyes glow. Nevermind. She's augmented.

I share your concern for Viktor's future. Riot has made some blunders as of late regarding previously ambiguous characters, such as Xerath. However, I have faith in Riot's ability to listen (since they are so proud on insisting it as fact) and our abilities as a community to ensure Viktor be given his due, and no less.

Rest assured, if I catch wind of even the slightest notion Viktor is being pushed towards a wholly unambiguously evil character, I (despite what my name implies) would cause quite a ruckus until the issue is resolved.

I felt Xerath's was handled well. He was sympathizable but still did something truly terrible, partially cause it was too late to stop it anyway. His short story definitely gave that impression. Hell he even zapped some people to keep Azir alive.

If that's the case, I feel like they could have really done a better job of communicating that his plans were unstoppable no matter what. Because the way it's written now, it just looks like Azir gave him exactly what he wanted, and Xerath went ahead and murdered him anyway.

I would support such a move only if it was the climactic ending of some larger story where he finally makes himself fully a machine intent on changing everyone else into machines. It would be a fantastically tragic story.

Personally, I would like to see Viktor contend with the fact that at some point removing all flesh destroys who you are as person, he must ask himself whether the realization of his dream, to be free of humanity's limitations, is worth the risk of annihilating his character.

To fully embrace the machine is a testament to his resolve, the strength of his conviction, yet it is tantamount to suicide. On the other hand, he could abandon his ultimate goal, coming to accept himself in spite of his flaws and working around the limitations of his form without sacrificing himself in the name of progress.

I doubt many share my ideal for Viktor's future, and that is understandable. I simply feel that extremism is detrimental.

ekko is pretty clearly good. I haven't seen a strong confirmation either way about the morality of a lot of piltover champs, they tend to just be coded as good, with the way they look and where they're from and the fact that they're friends with jayce

Woah, woah, woah! The whole deal with Viktor being seen as a menace, or at the very least an oddity in the scientific community, was because of his augmentations. His belief that man and machine should be integrated to uplift the individual was regarded with skepticism, and even a little fear. Yet in the comic, Zaun and PIltover employ augmentation, to the point that it almost seems common.

I think it's more of the amount of augmentation. Like, ther eis a difference in replacing an arm or a leg, especially when you've lost your original one in some nasty accident due to low workplace security ( = all of Zaun) and replacing your entire body save for the brain.

Also Viktor would probably have no issue with going beyond humanoid designs if it would prove to be superior, and that mightz be scary for people as well.
