I think there was a quote somewhere that said "As quickly as Kindred deals death, so too can they delay it."

I'm paraphrasing, but if we were to believe that Kindred is an embodiment of death, it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that they have almost an omnipotent call on when someone lives or dies. With that being said, it wouldn't be too far fetched that Kindred would talk in circles for the sole purpose of wasting time and keeping Magga with them instead of with her group.
