In all seriousness, who listens to login screens in the client?

People are losing their shit because of the disappearance of login screens, but who really listened to them in the client? I have the music enabled myself, but in the end I always go to youtube/soundcloud to actually listen to the themes.

The new client will enable password-saving, rendering login screens virtually pointless. I'd rather have what they did with Pantheon, tbh.

The point isn't whether or not we listen to the music while logging in, which I admittedly do. The point is that Riot is giving up a unique and universally-loved part of the game, and it's only getting more and more lackluster as it dies. This means that, not only is potential being wasted in half-done animations like Dark Star Jhin's or even Battle Academia's (and let's not even get into the poorly-cut cinematic loop for the Project login), but potential is even being wasted in the music as well. The Dark Star and Project themes were disappointing remixes of the two most beloved themes in the game, Battle Academia had no theme at all, and even as early as Galaxy Slayer Zed's theme, it's clear that Riot didn't give it their all.

This isn't universal; I think the Arcade animation and music were sufficient, Pantheon's actual music was excellently done, and the upcoming Star Guardian music sounds nice enough. But it's wasted potential and fizzling out instead of ending on a bang. And this disappoints me even more than the ending of login screens in general, though that makes me sad too.

it's just sentimental, in my opinion.

but in all honesty, I wont miss them. I never thought the animations were cool to see over and over again in a loop, and I always just listened to the music on YouTube.

but once again, long time players looked forward to seeing a new champ on the screen come to life along with awesome music introducing them

So I don't listen to them, or rather so few really gain my interest. But that's neither the point.

But the way I see it, the issue stems more from the fact that now is the downtime during a transition. People who aren't in the know are probably the most vocally upset with the 'sudden' change, while those who do know are anxious for the new stuff and how good it might be.

Yet there's still the fact that the music team is available for new projects other than exclusively the logins.

In the actual client itself? rarely. However, I listen to the music itself on a pretty consistent basis on YouTube, because a lot of it is honestly pretty good music, so if the discontinuation of login screens also means we'll be losing login themes, or at least something similar to them, I'm a bit sad to see it go.
