Am I the only one not being as excited for Pyke as I should be?

Look, I'm not saying I'm not looking forward to Pyke, an offensive Bilgewater support champ sounds fun and his teaser did get me interested. But everyone seems to be flipping out over him more so then I am, even though there are a lot of things that he brings that other champs have already brought.

He has a list to exact revenge on, even though Revenge is Kalista's theme, he was betrayed and presumably drowned, even though that's Nautilus (though with the Riot post a while back his lore may have changed), and I'm going to say it: I thought his initial appearance looked like old Bilgewater Swain (Change my Mind).

We're obviously going to see what he actually is like when he hits the PBE next week but for an initial impression it just didn't hit me as hard as it should have.

Pretty much agree with you here.

His story sounds a lot like the old one of Nautilus and him being a "serial-killer-support"(who also happens to be undead) really reminds me of Thresh.

Though I don't mind the revenge motif,as Kalista is someone who avenges the betrayed,so her acts aren't really that unjust and seem to focus on the betrayers only. Meanwhile Pyke sees everyone in Bilgewater as guilty,so his anger is clearly misguided.

Personally, I don’t like support so I won’t play him. And I rarely care about the magic aspect of fantasy as anything other than an obstacle to overcome. So the story doesn’t exactly grab me.

But I enjoy grotesques and horror. So I’m interested in that part of him. Honestly, Riot has been changing the old grotesques the game to give visuals that more enforce strength than horror. So I’m hopeful that this new champion will indicate that this pattern is being broken.

Some people aren't because he's a new support champion and we all know how everyone clearly enjoys playing support lol.

I'm not excited at all, because he really seems like he's going to be just another champion with the same mechanics and kit design as 22 other champions that already exist. There are already enough champions in the game with executes, we really don't need another one.
