honestly the skin itself is OUTSTANDING it could easily be a legendary skin just in terms of sheer quality if udyrs RELEASE ANIMATIONS FROM 2009 dint entirely just kill the skin.
i really hope that some sort of animation update is REALLY CLOSE because it just looks bad to have such a nice looking skin use such dated animations.
Which is why older champions get less skins unless they are high tier with a new rig. They talked about it back in the Twitch rework, where they said making skins for him is a waste of time because of his outdated model.
I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking "man, this skin would look SO good but has one major flaw, and that is its a skin for Udyr." The model itself looks great, but when he starts running around with his Naruto arms in Phoenix form or something, it just looks like some nerd in an excellent cosplay.
This is why Spirit Guard and Def Not will always be superior (for the time being); SG just completely replaces his animations and makes them GOOD (along with a lot of other awesome bells and whistles) and Definitely Not actually works with the goofy animations because he IS a guy running around in a silly suit.
I guess its nice that Udyr got a skin though. People have been complaining about popular Champions only getting the skin, and here is someone who hasn't had a skin in some time and isn't the most popular getting a high quality skin with a fitting theme. That's good at least.
I hardly even imagine at this point that they will remediate the potato animation on his AA for this skin. His walking patterns are different though, a plus that will most likely be outshadowed by poor decisions from the skins team. I mean, if you create a skin that has different walking patterns for every ability, why not make for the very least some slight changes in the AA animations? With that said, this skin can serve as a prime example of how Udyr's animations can be in the case of a future VU of hit entire kit.
Talk about dated animation skins, some of LoL rarest skins still have outdated animations and it's a real shame for the owners. I have few of those limited skins and their main appeal is their rarity and prestige you would think they will try and update them to modern standards but that's not the case with all of them. Still I'd really want Pax TF, idk if he has the best animations from all tf skins but it's very cool and I would buy it in a heartbeat if they would sell it again,
If only there was a full set of animations to borrow from! If only there was some sort of... UPDATE to his animations that's ALREADY DONE and being held hostage ON A SKIN.
