How to fix lore

I know the lore team at Riot doesn't like the idea of having to have a League of Legends and summoners where all the champs have to have some reason to come to this institute of war and then can they even do anything afterwards? It really restricts them in storytelling and that's not good. But I don't think it needs to be thrown out entirely.

My idea is that the League of Legends be an institution that is created in the far future of Runeterra. Summoners have found a way to resurrect the heroes of the past by finding some relic of them(think Fate Stay Night or Fate Zero). Then either this is their new system of resolving conflict, or even better it could be that they're actually historians trying to learn about the ages past (insert some reason why historical records have been lost i.e. war) by observing these figures of the past. Sadly the strongest spirits and come from powerful objects/ideas so the most salvagable characters are all warlike and they just cause problems when resurrected. So the summoners pit them against each other and watch their interactions to learn all that they can. And occasionally are able to get full stories from these characters.

This would allow Riot to have full license with timeline issues. The champions don't all have to be alive at the same time, they don't have to all interact, they could have been inspired by each other. It would also fit a release schedule because players would feel like historians who are able to uncover bits and pieces one at a time. Occasionally we get full stories, the rest of the time it's just in game quotes and hints, so more or less what we're doing anyways but now it'd be cannon.
