@Riot - The Visual Updates/VGUs from 2014-2016 That Still Need to be completed...

Riot, You have and classified on your support site as being VGUs. This is difficult to swallow when you have champions like and who set the bar that was very clearly missed when doing work on Shen, Fiora, and Miss Fortune.

You also have and classified as Visual Updates. This too is difficult to swallow when you have champions like and who set a bar that was very clearly missed when you guys did work on Alistar and Maokai.

Things looked more promising last year, when Maokai got his VO updated, and with the talk of Miss Fortune getting a VO, this is promising as well. However, all 5 of these champions and are still far, far away from the standards you set above. None of them have modernized rigging or animations, and the rest of them need new voice overs. You've come about 2/3rds of the way to making them actualized VGUs, with their kit updates and model exteriors, so I beg of you, please finish what you started so that these champions won't be forgotten and so they won't scoot into that ugly half-finished territory with their outdated movements and animations. You've come so close, so please, just go that little step further and finish them.

Kassadin got the short end of the stick here too, I feel. Honestly, it sucks for champions like him, Shen, and Maokai, but at the same time I'm not sure if "finishing" their VUs/VGUs should take priority over/delay more important projects like a Nunu or Volibear VGU.

Kassadin never got a VU though, he merely got his textures updated during the comprehensive texture update many years back. At least I don't recall him getting any extensive model work done. I know there was Singed who got some mild polishing, but he's not been listed on Riot's official VU/VGU/GU page.

Additionally, they need to finish what they began. Half-finished work should ALWAYS take priority over new projects. Alistar was once in the terrible state that Nunu was in, and they slapped a new paint job on him, updated his kit, and called it a day. I personally would be super pissed if that's what they did to Nunu or even Volibear. These champions, like the ones I've listed above, need the full treatment if they are to be comparable to fully realized VGUs and new champions, and before they even start working on anyone else, they need to back and finish their half-cooked projects to get them up to snuff. We need quality work over quantity of work.

For the record, I upvoted your post because I agree with your sentiment and would hate if my main champ got the Shen/Ali/Fiora treatment as opposed to the full VGU package. At the same time, though, I understand Riot has had difficulties throughout the years with their champion VU/VGU pipeline, and shit happens. They wanna focus on champs who haven't gotten anything in a long time or are in dire need, as opposed to those who already got VUs and minor kit updates, which is respectable.

Honestly, I'd love if Riot could just form up a new team and hire new employees dedicated to addressing those middle-ground champions like Shen and MF, but that doesn't seem to be a possibility or something they intend on pursuing either, judging by Ghostcrawler's thoughts on the matter (which as a player is super frustrating, because I'd love to see some modernized versions of these champs - MF would be badass).

Aye, and his VFX were updated too at some point (not sure if they came alongside his VU?). He's also listed as a Visual Update on Riot's support page.

2 things. These were earlier updates and intentionally smaller as they were in rather good spots to begin with. Riot has since decided that doing the smaller VGUs aren't as valuable when the champs are as outdated as they are.

Although the VGUs aren't on the same caliber, at least they were done and I wouldn't expect Riot to give them more attention when there are champions in dire need of updates.
