I love how the new champ is presented

*He gives people absolution from their problems. We definitely know that he physically removes them from their problems, but does he also exert some magical power to make it seem as though the problem never existed? He's been all over the world, he knows the best places to take people in order to fix their problems.

*He feeds on the hopes/dreams of people. He can't get into the "dining hall" of the heart because he hasn't given those people hope/a dream yet. The people let him into the dining hall of their heart by letting Tamm help them out.

*HE'S A CATFISH. Deception at it's finest. "The price is minuscule". Yes, it's a small thing to let him into the dining halls of your heart, you just have to open the doors to let him in. Then he crushes your hopes and dreams later on. Isn't the best part of life being able to live out your dreams? A seemingly small price takes the greatest toll possible.

*Waiting years to cash in on his deal? He let's his food "ferment", waiting so long to the point where his victim's suspicions are long past, life is great, nothing can go wrong, then BAM. Oh so savory

Theory incoming, imagine if the Handsome Gambler was Twisted Fate? His luck ran out early in life, came across Tamm, was delivered to a kingdom, had his wife-to-be killed by Tamm, then goes to Bilgewater to track down Tamm while doing his gambling shenanigans, gets tied up in Zaun to learn magic so he can bring back his wife-to-be, gets caught up with Malcolm Graves, turns Graves in to the authorities, gets his experiment, and now has his magical powers (albeit, not resurrection powers).

The TF thing is why i hate this champion it goes 100% against his theme as a person/champion after all he is the man who always has lady luck on his side and gets good fortune no matter what the situation, mean while the gambler in the trailer looks like a stupid idiot who just signs a deal without even knowing the price! TF would NEVER EVER DO THAT!

The woman also bothers me because if the gambler is TF then the woman has to be Eve, also its odd that the woman seems to know this "demon"

Can we please not needlessly tie in champions where they don't belong? Are we forgetting champions are characters themselves, and not mere archetypes that can be shoehorned into any given situation?

He's a gambler. Big huff. Tons of gamblers exist. What makes TF special isn't his gambling, it's his character. What you're describing, the "turned in Graves to be able to get the experiment to try to resurrect his wife" is completely outside of him. He isn't a noble soul, he's a cheater who never truly gambles because he never enters a game he knows he can't win: "Never lost a fair game. Never played one".

I think the presentation was astounding and think it needs to be done like this more often. It gave more feeling to the lore and while a great deal of people dislike the lore that might be changed by Tamm (Rumored name of the River King.). I think it is going to add a fresh feeling to the Lore and I completely agree with this.

I really liked it, but the voice acting wasn't great (the accent was nice, but there were some lines that were weirdly accentuated)

Good presentation.

Now come some retcons of TF and Graves. The new character will probably be retconned in two years when a new champion that is related to him releases. Fizz/Nami will probably get some short unfinished bios that'll be finished when there's a story that needs a playful fish and an adventurous mermaid.

I'm just not excited. The world of Runeterra feels hollow, it's a bunch of generic tropes, but now without the IoW to make it interesting. The characters in Valoran, the champions of League of Legends, are treated like tools; getting changed and retconned whenever Riot feels like it. The only things that seems to matter to Riot are to tell a story and hype up the new champion. If I'm not supposed to care about champions nor the world, why should I care about the stories? Because they looks fancy?

I Still Go By What I Said In My Post Abbout What Do You Think That The Laugh In The River Is ( Now We Know Who It Was). It The Post Me And Some Other People Came To The Conclusion That It Could Be Kindda Like Last Year With Azir And Shurima, Where A New Champ Comes Out, And All The Champs From The Same Area Get Lore Updates, And Some Get Full Blown Reworks ( Cassie And Renek Last Year, GP And Miss This Year.) I Agree With Everything That You Wrote, And Even Tho The Current TF Lore Would Not Allow This Theory, If They All Get Updates, Then I Guess That It Could Work.
