So Ezreal's gauntlet has a twin - but what does it do and who has it? (And is Ne'Zuk still alive?)

There is no need for a powerful mage like Ne’Zuk, who was the original owner of the gauntlets, to make the same thing two times, especially since the teleportation gem seemed to be something unique. So he would use the teleport gauntlet in one hand, and (???) in the other. My personal guess is while Ezreal's is for offensive purposes, the other is for defensive, like a shield, and possibly capable of healing things.

And this is where things get weird. Ezreals parents set out to find this tomb and the Unknown Gauntlet had been removed already.

That's what it says. But if his parents found the twin, why have they never returned?

Assuming Ezreal's parents found the twin and it was not taken by someone else, I have the following theory: as many other super-powerful mages Ne'Zuk was not really fond of the whole idea of "dying" and made preperations for it. The very fact that the shuriman desert provides a material that is capable of storing souls, the Soul Stones of the Brackern, would make it possible to find a way to "cheat" death in a way. However, the stone would have to be kept very secure, preferably inside of an artifact imbued with the strongest defensive magic possible. And this is where the "defense version of Ezreal's glove" comes to mind.

Now, what would happen if someone were to put on the glove that contained the soul of an ancient shuriman mage who just hungered for a new body?

I'd say instant posession. But why has Ne'Zuk not returned to his grave to get his other gauntlet? After all the first one was taken years ago, there was a lot of time before Ezreal stumbled upon it again.

Possibility A: One of Ezreal's parents got taken over, the other now is keeping them locked up in an attempt to get them "back to normal".

Possibility B: One got taken over, and the other killed them when they saw that the posession was no longer reversible. To attone for this murder they never returned home to their son, thinking it is better for him to believe they went missing on a heroic quest that hearing about this tragedy.

Possibility C: The one who got taken over killed the other, but for some reason was unable to fetch the offensive gauntlet. Maybe the other locked them up with their last strenght or wounded them gravely so they'd have to take years to recover, even with the power of the defensive gauntlet (assuming it has healing properties).

Whatever it may be, the family reunion is going to be really awkward for Ezreal...
