A View on Shyvana's Alignment

So this has been in the back of mind my for quite some time now ever since I read up on all of her lore. And yes I already know that her alignment is towards Demacia and whatnot but just stop for a moment and think back. Why specifically did she decide to join Demacia? Probably so many of you are now saying "because Jarvan found her, helped kill her father's killer and offered her a place within their ranks." Yes that's all true but now think about that. Really that only happened because Jarvan pretty much happened to stumble across her just at the right time and offer assistance.

So what's always been a question to me is what if instead Noxus somehow found her first? I mean I did just state that she agreed to join Demacia because they found her first and helped her so why couldn't the same happen if Noxus did it? I'd imagine that a similar scenario would play out: they'd find her, she'd explain the situation, they think about gaining the benefit of a half dragon for their country, offer to help her in exchange for her joining them, they kill the dragon, and as per the agreement she joins them. Hell for all we know she may be better received by the public there. I mean there still would be some fear of her in Noxus, as there is within Demacia currently, but considering Noxus as of right now is all about gaining strength for their empire and dragons being one of the strongest creatures in their world it would make sense that she would be praised over.

I'd personally love it if they could make a skin showing this kind of scenario. I mean if Riot can release "what if skins" like Anivia / Nasus becoming corrupted or Udyr gets an ultimate skin for a possible future outcome for him, then why not make Shyv a skin depicting a possible outcome of Noxus recruiting her first. It'd be a really cool legendary skin for her and personally I kinda wish she had one (and yes I know she recently got Super Galaxy but I'm just saying that she should get a skin like this in the future, possibly the next time she's up for a skin).

I feel like, storywise, Shyvana is a better fit for Demacia because it's the place that's least likely to accept her. In Noxus they'd be fearful, but I feel she'd be quick to gain power and respect. Demacia would be very wary of her for potentially her entire life.

It's something that I feel speaks volumes for J4 and his views as well as what Demacia could be if he was king. His willingness to accept Shyvana despite her origins and powers could be greatly helpful to Demacia's development as a whole, given how it seems to be a more closed off nation.

Makes me wonder about folks like Xin, Sona and Galio, and how Demacia regards them.

This… This is actually a really good idea.

Especially now that Riot is trying to make Noxus less of a stereotypical "bad guy place."

I would love to see the alternate Noxus skin but in terms of her lore I am happy that she ended up in Demacia because all of the champions that live there are fairly "play by the rules" when it comes to their lore. It's (generally speaking) the collection of good guys and having a volatile half dragon there that is somewhat of a wild card makes it more interesting. I actually think having somebody like Lux or Galio would be interesting if they ended up in Noxus as they are generally good alignment and would be a good contrast in personality to most of the Noxus champions, even if they were allegiant to the city.

Yeah you have a pretty good point there. Shyvana would have actually fit better into noxus than demacia,I mean she seems rather ruthless anyway. Hopefully her lore will touch upon that at one point.

Well, we already have Noxus Poppy, so a Noxian skin for Shyvana is not out of question.

Mh... Now that I think about it, it's a shame that Noxus Poppy doesn't have a different VO with more fitting lines. They did it for Captain GP, so they should have done it for her too.
